Ideological Archeology: Heckling Hegel (IV)

Continued from Part III: "Countering Kant"

Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (1770-1831), was like Immanuel Kant (Part III), a great admirer of Jean Jacques Rousseau (part II). Like today's cosmologists are warping reason for their Holy Grail, the 'theory of everything', these anti philosophers of the Counter Enlightenment did the same in their efforts to unify faith and reason.

Hegel feverishly sought to square Christianity with reason. In his efforts he made an irrational decision: he allowed Kant's dialectics to reflect the contradiction.

Hegel's follower, Karl Marx thought this was all wrong and devised his own version of the dialectics, which is with us until this day as a divisive mechanism for progress through class struggle.

Hegel's philosophy is a secular fantasy based on Judeo-Christian cosmology: God's projection, a spirit called the Absolute, represents creation which is seeking reunification with God. Its development through struggle and conflict by means of which it gets to know itself, is the story of the history of the world. The story ends when the Absolute - reunited with God - achieves full self-consciousness.

Hegel's theme was the state. As Rousseau is the father of the totalitarian state, Hegel is the founder of the collective state. The Orwellian term, 'freedom through the state' describes well where Hegel is coming from.

According to Hegel freedom is not a God-given right, inherent in man and therefore inalienable as the Enlighteners held it, but is temporary and conditional, granted and taken by the state as it sees fit.

Under the principle 'as above, so below' the state is acting as the instrument of God. It is the 'ethical whole', the 'actualization of freedom', and the self-consciousness of the Absolute.

As a mere aspect of the state it is the individual's duty to submit to its needs, and worship it as a 'terrestrial divinity'. Consider the following quote as illustrative of the idea:

''Otto Braun, age 19, a volunteer who died in World War I, wrote in a letter to his parents: "My inmost yearning, my purest, though most secret flame, my deepest faith and my highest hope - they are still the same as ever, and they all bear one name: the State. 

One day to build the State like a temple, rising up pure and strong, resting in its own weight, severe and sublime, but also serene like the gods and with bright halls glistening in the dancing brilliance of the sun - this, at bottom, is the end and goal of my aspirations.''

Hegel's views are a fine example how volition, human free will, the essence of morality, is shifted from man to God, thus dodging human responsibility and lumbering God with the dire results of human free will.

'World historical figures' as operatives of God's Plan, might be exacting high cost in terms of human lives, but collective historical development is of a higher order than mere morality. This hierarchy of ethics sounds familiar.

The suspicion may be justified that the rift between the Enlightenment and the Counter-Enlightenment, the American-Continental fault-line, Locke versus Rousseau, is still visible today in the geopolitical differences between the United States and the European Union (Part I, The Counter Enlightenment).

Americans have taken up ownership of their politeia, safeguarded by the guarantees of the Second Amendment, ensuring the rule of law will be defended with something more impressive than corroded pitchforks and burning barricades.

Europeans on the other hand are still stuck in the mind-set of subjects. They have not given up being the pawns of Hegel's 'world historical figures', the new operatives of 'God's work' who happen to be carving out a heroic role for themselves as unelected road-builders to Kantian world government by the new world order.

Admittedly EU citizens were misled by their political leaders, but how else can one account for the civic tolerance of the collectivist, centralist super behemoth, the post-democratic techno-rule that is now controlling most of the continent and the United Kingdom? Is Hegel's hierarchy of ethics, the flow of 'world historic events' before individual rights - empire building before Enlightenment values - alive and kicking in the third millennium?

The EU recently betrayed its Hegelian credentials in the matter of the wave of Islamic fundamentalism that is encroaching on the Turkish secular democracy founded by Kemal Ataturk. The latter - knowing his Youngturks from his Liberals - made the military the custodians of the secular Turkish government.

In a recent crisis the EU made a perhaps not surprising, but very revealing choice. The military were to stay in barracks, Sharia come what may. This choice should not be interpreted as a mark of respect for the fundamentalists' freedom of conscience, because this liberty has already been officially subordinated to postmodern moral legislation.

This was a choice to sacrifice democracy, rather than save it by a military intervention, for putting the flow of 'world political events' before the values of liberal democracy. Statist habits die exceedingly hard, it seems.

Expert on anti modern Counter Enlightenment thought, Stephen Hicks, lists four of Hegel's contributions to postmodernity:

1. Reality is an entirely subjective creation (or, thought creates reality) (or, reality  for its existence is dependent upon the subjective mind); (a reversal of reason made possible by Kant, who enclosed the mind inside the skull, rendering knowledge of the external world impossible);

2. Ignoring Aristotle's law, contradictions were built into reality which made them a natural part of reason (from here onwards anything goes);

3. As reality evolves contradictorily, truth is not absolute, but relative to time, place and subject (the immediate victim of this logic is morality, the knowledge of good and evil);

4. The collective, not the individual, is the operative unit.

All this unfixed relativism and subjectivism may be surprising, but compared to the Counter-Enlightenment movement's later religious as well as atheist philosophers who have become known as the Irrationalists, Kant and Hegel sound like the sheer essence of reason.

NASA psychiatrist and blogger Dr Sanity has written extensively about the Counter Enlightenment and Hegel in relation to schooling and education, early victims of the 'new logic'. Here's a self-explanatory example:

Hegel, building on Kant, Rousseau and Fichte (next part), would go on to write, "It must be further understood that all the worth which the human being possesses--all the spiritual reality, he possesses only through the State." Hegel's heirs went on to divide into left- and right-wing camps. The charge of the left was led by leftists like Karl Marx, who transformed Hegel's "dialectic of Spirit" into an economic and social system that depended on godless dialectic of "oppressors versus oppressed." The right-wing Hegelians tended to stress the omnipotence of the state and were less willing to abandon a deity. For more than a 100 years, the two camps have been battling it out, each trying to impose their utopian vision onto the human species.

Both Hegelian offshoots summarily dispensed with free will and human freedom; and between them, they brought forth the philosophical abomination that we now call "postmodernism". The 20th century was the battleground where the two totalitarian branches of the collectivist philosophers vied for spiritual and physical control over humanity. The amount of death, destruction and misery they ushered in is perhaps unprecedented in human history.

By the mid-20th century, the right-wing, or nationalist, Hegelians, or National Socialists (Nazis) had been defeated by an alliance of the left-wing Hegelians and those who stood for human freedom and democracy. By the end of the century, the social systems favored by the Hegelians of the left had been exposed to the world for the lie and deception it was.

But, in this new century, both utopian systems have been given new life by recruiting a potent new ally in their attempts to control the minds of men. That ally is postmodern philosophy and rhetoric, which I have written about multiple times. This 18th century philosophical rise of collectivism is still playing itself out several hundred years later in the competing ideologies of our own time.

The most important battlefield in this war in our time is the educational system, from kindergarden through college, where strenuous efforts are being made by the remnants of both types of collectivists to claim the minds of the next generation. (...) >>>

Wilders Hits US Talk Show Circuit

Rob Piccoli over on Wind Rose Hotel has an excellent post up on the “Premio Oriana Fallaci”, Geert Wilders and the pernicious machinations of one of the most dangerous organizations of our time: the Organization of Islamic Conferences (OIC).

Some have suggested - amongst others the author of "Eurabia", Bat Yeor - that it is this massive lobby group that has pressured the Amsterdam Appeals Court into indicting Wilders. It says something about the politization of the course of justice that this morning's article in the Dutch paper De Pers states that Wilders is being prosecuted for making "anti Islamic statements". The text of the indictment is less straight forward, but it boils down to precisely that.

"(...) The OIC is one of the largest intergovernmental organizations in the world. It encompasses 56 Muslim states plus the Palestinian Authority. O'Reilly is challenging Wilders that "what good does "Fitna" do, since everyone knows by now that Islamism is a totalitarian ideology". That's precisely the problem, isn't it? They should know and could know, but the psychological mechanism of denial kicks in so that they do not have to deal with a major threat!

Vorzheva of the blog World Challenges of the XXIst Century has taken the initiative of starting an aggregate of the counter-jihadist movement, the Anti Islamist Coalition. You'll find such fine blogs as Infidels Are Cool and Muslims Against Sharia posting there.

Radical Islam.org is a great website, featuring for example Frank Gaffney, Jr exploring the pregnant question, "Where are the Liberal Muslims?" It stresses what we've been saying for some time. It just stands to reason that those in the West who are dancing to the Islamic tune - postmodernists, and a plethora of Leftist groups (Dutch language link) - are actually strengthening, aiding and abetting the radicals, not supporting the moderates. They are left out in the cold with nowhere to go. Check it out! It's outrageous! Read the comments too!

Wilders interview with Glenn Beck underlines another hazard to watch closely: the next stage in the disease called political correctness. Paired to "prosecution for anti Islamic statements" we see there's the tendency since the onset of Obama - and this is visible in Europe as well as the US - that opposition is somehow out of the moral order. This is dangerous stuff we need to keep a close eye on. Listen to Glenn!

The Daily Beast in "The Anti-Islam Film Everyone's Talking About" is the first to run against the apparent inconsistency in Wilders' logic. The idea however of a European "First Amendment" is a development that has come up only in the last couple of days.

"(...) Wilders has called for banning the Koran entirely. How does he reconcile this position with his new party platform as free speech martyr? (...)", asks the Daily Beast.

Andrew G. Bostom in an article on American Thinker clarified: "Wilders' demand is simply precision and consistency in the application of the law: "Wilders compared the Koran to Mein Kampf and called it hate speech according to the Dutch Penal Code".

Up next ... this was only to be expected! After just watching this vid as an example of transnational Islamization frankly nothing should surprise us any more ...

This Week's Madhouse: Wilders, Winter, Failed Philosophy

There seems to be an epidemic going on within the Postmodern West, in which valid and factual criticisms of Islam, made by politicians like Susanne Winter in Austria (bottom update) and Geert Wilders in the Netherlands are being outlawed as per the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) demands. The following question to our political leaders imprints itself on my consciousness:

Is progress temporarily suspended until Eurabia has managed to catch up with the rest of humanity, or is it your intention to keep the backward course until we've actually reverted to a level of development, on par with the pre Enlightenment age?

Our position, that the Amsterdam Court of Appeal's decision this week to prosecute Geert Wilders for - in short - insulting Islam, is encouraging the forces of chaos and radicalism, is almost immediately vindicated by today's news.

• A well know Muslim hate preacher in a speech at Rotterdam University has called for Wilders "to be flogged".
• One of the parties who pressed the charges - an anti racism platform - is now calling for the outlawing of all regular political discourse involving non-whites: the prosecution of a Wilders Free Party member who voiced accusations at the Netherlands Antilles Government this week of corruption, a known fact.

In the meanwhile relativist thought does its destructive work on the souls of the people on West Street. What strikes me in TV interviews and polls is that ordinary people have taken up a position as if Wilders' point is, to willfully and spitefully hurt poor, ordinary Muslims, either out of cold, electoral calculation, or because 'he just hates Muslims' (much like the Left hate George Bush and Muslims hate Jews).

It's as if it's just Wilders' hateful character, and that he might just as easily have swapped his perverted, vicious opinion for a warmer and fuzzier one, had he not had such an unpleasant, fascist personality. Do you see what's happening here?

It is almost as if it's a matter of civility, of etiquette. That is the result of the relativist position that denies the existence of objective reality. Everything is taken as filtered and tainted by the subjective, personal perspective.

The followers of this philosophy believe that the result will be, respect and tolerance for each and every position (the sole exception is made for the white, male 'power structure's narrative, which is uniquely evil). And reality being what it is, to appreciate it all, means to love none. In effect, it is the philosophy of Nothing that once again at some point in the foreseeable future, will end in human drama.

Over on Pajames TV Michael Ledeen in "Faster Please" has a fascinating interview with award-winning milblogger Michael Yon. They talk about the War on Terrorism and recent developments in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq.

The Netherlands is one of the coalition countries presently entrenched in Afghanistan. It is this small country's heftiest mission since the Korean War. But the national narrative looks at the Afghan undertaking almost entirely in terms of development aid. The highly trained military are seen as glorified development workers, commonly referrred to as 'soldiers'.

While the Russians have been denying the coalition access to infrastructure to assist operations in Afganistan, only this morning Yahoo!News report that the ice is thawing: "Russia sees its relations with NATO improving and wants the military alliance to succeed in Afghanistan, to reduce the regional threat".

The Taliban meanwhile kept busy blasting their way backwards through time by blowing up four boys' and one girls' school in Pakistan's scenic Swat valley. It's no reminder to the Dutch public in general that the failed state of Afghanistan, if left unchecked, can still be a major threat to the region and the world at large.

Other than the Troofers' version of events, no lessons were taken from 9/11. So these occurances in the tribal regions do not trigger any correlation being drawn between failed states and flying bombs in the capital of Capitalism.

A consequence of waking up to reality is having to deal with unpleasant facts, something that would never do for the ever 'personal realization' driven hedonists of the late counter-cultural revolution.

As for Iraq, that Bush-neocon disaster nobody wants to talk about anymore since the highly successful surge, Yon explains how the most explosive region - Al Anbar province - has proved to be key to the pacification of the entire country. The marines, rather than being IED'd to pieces, are now actually bored to death.

And on a lighter note, Yon is going to serve Troofy film manufacturer Michael Moore with a lawsuit pertaining to copyright infringements.

Who could have thought that life amongst the atoms and molecules would be that hard?!

The Silent Expansions of Europe: Eurabia

The silent, post-democratic expansion of Europe into swathes of northern Africa (Maghreb) and whole chunks of the Middle East (Mashreq) continues unabated.

Nobody's been asked and no one tells, except buried news items like this morning's Yahoo!News article "Syria's Assad to seal detente with Europe". The story is so remarkable, that contrary to policy it should have been published here in its entirety. We decided against it, but reading it comes highly recommended.

While Syria's secret service agents continue to operate in the Levant as if on their own turf, the Syrian President thought nothing of having a former head of state assassinated; who recently heard about the UN investigation into the murder of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri, is kindly requested to inform.

So what, if the current head of the ruling dynasty sees his country as his own private stretch of real estate, in which the sole Fascist political party is the means to rule it; who cares if the proxy totalitarian state's apparatus is in lock-step with Iranian theofascism, the actual potentates of the Assad private estate; what gives that Israel recently had to trash a secretly built North Korean nuclear reactor; or that American diplomatic efforts in the Middle East are undermined?

The Eurocrats' magic word for expanding the sphere of influence is 'interdependence,' the vehicles towards it are the talking-shops and environmental projects pending overcoming the reluctance to unleash overt cultural cooperation on the peoples of Europe. The excuse: Hegelian 'world historical events' leading to Kantian world government at any price.

Of Christian Ethics: Muzzles and Jackboots

In a last week's post "Deeper Under the Eurofascist Jackboot" we reported the plight of a Dutch cartoonist, Gregory Nekschot. The name is an uncannily apt pseudonym considering the circumstances. Nekschot means 'a shot in the neck', the tots' choice of execution for enemies of the state. Nekschot's home was searched and the artist had his means of living confiscated by the overwhelming power of a ten men police squad. He himself was arrested, interrogated and thrown in jail.

A public discourse ensued. The intimidating circumstances were subject of a parliamentary debate yesterday, a number of MPs to their credit expressing worry and outrage. It was also debated if the prosecution service have performed their duties as is expected of them. It is fairly obvious a number of 'technical' mistakes were made. The Minister of Justice, while defending the action as a whole, has tacitly admitted as much. Surprisingly, promising more answers he's still in office today!

The investigation was triggered by an unborn Dutch Muslim known by the name of Abdul-Jabbar Van de Ven, a 'calvinist' imam moonlighting as chairman of the Islamic Propagation Centre International (IPCI), which is financed by bin Laden. The investigation of Nekschot had taken three years to complete because the police were unable to pinpoint the identity behind the Nekschot pseudonym. The computer needed confiscating to establish if the offensive drawings were uploaded from this particular apparatus. Never mind the details of this load of bovine manure.

But in a country where the rule of law reigns supreme no one is supposed to question cases in public while a trial is pending. Which is all very well, but isn't the rule of law itself in danger here by state censorship and intimidation, and by enforced 'self'-censorship of the press and the public at large?

Nekschot doesn't advocate the extermination of individuals or groups of people, nor does he call for entire nations to be driven into the sea, a common fixture on social networking sites such as FaceBook. Nekschot draws cartoons, pen and satire are his weapons (Pomos, this is what is commonly referred to as 'metaphor,' so don't even think of pressing charges for illegal carrying).

One of the parties in government, to which also the Justice Minister belongs - the Christian Democrats (CDA) - have embraced the interests of Muslims as their own on the basis of them being all 'believers.' A few months ago we had another episode with a CDA party member screaming "fasc!" at Libertarian Wilders for speaking out against encroaching Islamization.

The ethics of this party are getting more questionable by the day. In the Dutch political landscape the CDA party has historically a pivotal role between the Leftist Labour and the 'Rightist' free-market Liberals. No party can govern in its own right and the Christians have the choice of going 'either way.'

They have governed for years with the Liberals, backing free-market policies, less rules and regulations, a small(er) government, curbing benefits and discouraging asylum. At present in government with the Socialists, they have effortlessly performed an U-turn on essentials, backed down from their own past policies and started catering to the forces of darkness, which apparently includes muzzling Islam-critical cartoonists.

On the other hand - let's not kid ourselves. In the European Union of today the sovereign nation is a thing of the past. Thanks to political obscurantism and contempt of democratic principles in the face of Hegelian historical events, we have no way of knowing to what extent the unelected Commission is actually in power, by proxy of national governments.

It is the new-found duty of parliaments to rubber-stamp whatever is pouring through the Brussels pipe-line. And national governments bear the brunt of the neotot policies without ever implicating the Brussels behemoth, because too much criticism might endanger 'the project,' which - as we know - foresees in expanding Europe into Turkey, the African Maghreb and the Middle Eastern Mashriq. The implications of such plans might be obvious to any realistic observer.

Europe's Speechless, Frantic Surrender

This post was published on 16th January on The Brussels Journal under the title "Grand Mufti of Syria Threatens Europeans at EU Parliament, EU Media Silent", and is yet another worthy effort written by Fjordman. We reproduce it here in its entirety for insight and comprehension.

In the next few days we hope to present you with a view from Holland. Those who know how to deal with bullies are franticly anticipating the Wilders film. Polls and surveys are proliferating, all posing questions leading to outcomes expressing various stages of mass hysteria.

Elsevier is reporting today (link in Dutch) that the police admitted to have been instructed to treat those pressing charges against Wilders with leniency. Charges of 'insult' and discrimination need not be beefed up by criminal evidence. If one didn't know any better, one would almost suspect a plot.

Surprised? You won't be, after reading Fjordman's article on the most massive act of treason in human history.

This information was brought to my attention by the blog Snaphanen. As a part of the deliberate merger of Europe and the Islamic world [Eurabia] that is the policy of the European Union at the highest levels, yet almost never debated in European media, 2008 will be a "Year of Intercultural Dialogue," which means that Europeans will be bombarded with propaganda about how good it will be to submit to Islamic rule, and some veiled threats about what happens if we don't.

The visiting Grand Mufti of Syria threatened Europeans over the "misuse" of free speech to criticize Islam. This has been carefully left out of the official EU reports from his speech at the EU Parliament. One of the EU Commissioners, or unelected pan-European Ministers, addressed the European press a while ago, hoping that they would participate in this brainwashing of the public. Not in those exact words, of course, but the journalists got the message, and disturbingly enough didn't seem to protest.

This is the hallmark of a totalitarian state, where the authorities instruct the press on what to write and which ideologies to broadcast. That is what the EUSSR is rapidly becoming, as former Soviet dissident Vladimir Bukovsky has warned.

Perhaps the most shameful aspect of the history of Eurabia is how the supposedly critical media has allowed itself to be corrupted or deceived by the Eurabians. Most of the documents about the Euro-Arab Dialogue place particular emphasis on working with the media, and the Eurabians have played the European media like a Stradivarius.

A conference on "Racism, Xenophobia and the Media" in Vienna in May 2006 was coordinated by the EU. By the end of 2006, the network of media practitioners involved in the Euro-Arab Dialogue had grown to over 500 (pdf). These included people, media and organizations from all 37 countries of the Euro-Mediterranean partnership. European and Arab journalists produced dozens of recommendations on how to enhance their cooperation and promote "mutual understanding" between their cultures and religions in the media.

Benita Ferrero-Waldner, European Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy (read: Eurabian affairs), addressed the assembly of journalists. According to her, "we do not believe the media should be regulated from outside, but rather that you find ways to regulate yourselves. [...] 2008 is the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue, and I am determined that by then we will have made significant improvements in the level of mutual respect and understanding our communities have for one another. In the months and years to come we must reach beyond the elites to the man and woman on the street. That is a vital part of the fight against racism and xenophobia. And you will be the key to achieving that."

This document is available on the Internet, but I doubt most Europeans have heard about it. Ferrero-Waldner also stated that "Freedom of expression is not the freedom to insult or offend. Hate speech is always abhorrent." The EU has in numerous agreements with Muslim countries made it clear that "Islamophobia" is a form of racism and hate speech. The EU is now practicing this media censorship.

According to Dutch blogger Klein Verzet, the Grand Mufti of Syria threatened Holland [link to Elsevier article added]: "Should it come to riots, bloodshed and violence after broadcasting the Quran movie by PVV-leader Geert Wilders, then Wilders will be responsible." This was said by the Grand Mufti of Syria, Ahmad Badr Al-Din Hassoun, Tuesday in the European Parliament, where he gave a speech at the invitation of the fraction presidents.

If Wilders tears up or burns a Quran in his film 'this will simply mean he is inciting wars and bloodshed. And he will be responsible', according to the Grand Mufti. Al Hassoun thinks it is 'the responsibility of the Dutch people to stop Wilders'."

If you read the official texts by the EU media, this threat has been totally removed. Euractiv.com, a website subsidized by the EU, reports today: "No 'conflict of cultures', Islamic leader tells EU Parliament" - "The Grand Mufti of Syria yesterday told MEPs that he did not believe in the conflict of cultures because 'we are all building one culture', becoming the first religious leader to address the Parliament during the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue."

A series of eminent religious and cultural leaders are set to address the plenary session of the European Parliament on the subject of intercultural dialogue throughout 2008. The Grand Mufti of Syria, Ahmad Badr Al-Din Hassoun, yesterday (15 January) told Parliament's Strasbourg plenary that perceived clashes of culture were instead conflicts of 'ignorance, terrorism and backwardness'. He stressed that although religion gave culture its moral values, 'it is we who build civilisation', arguing that 'we must create states on a civil basis' rather than a religious one. Moreover, he said there was 'no such thing' as a holy war.

Meanwhile, around 400 Muslim groups signed a charter last week (10 January) outlining their rights and responsibilities in European society. The charter contains 26 points, among which are clauses aimed at dispelling myths surrounding the link between Islam and violence and clarifying the term 'jihad'.

In a separate development, a UN project designed to combat terrorism by promoting 'cross-cultural understanding', particularly between the West and the Islamic world, began its first forum yesterday in Madrid. The 'Alliance of Civilisations' initiative, co-sponsored by Turkey and adopted by the UN in 2005, was proposed by Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Rodriguez Zapatero in the wake of the Madrid bombings in 2004.

José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero was brought to power by the Islamic terror attacks in Madrid in 2004 and has been appeasing Muslims through his "Alliance of Civilizations" idea ever since. He has pledged to drum up EU support for building an undersea tunnel physically connecting Spain and Morocco, and thus Europe and Muslim North Africa. Zapatero claims this project will 'change Africa and Europe.' He's certainly right about that.

Yesterday, the EU Commission’s website for intercultural dialogue wrote: "Grand Mufti of Syria: a single culture unites us all." - "In a speech to MEPs on Tuesday on the subject of intercultural dialogue, the Grand Mufti of Syria, Ahmad Badr Al-Din Hassoun, stressed the value of culture as a unifying rather than a dividing force. Dr Hassoun was addressing a formal sitting of Parliament as the first speaker in a series of visits by eminent religious and cultural leaders in 2008, which has been designated European Year of Intercultural Dialogue. Opening his address, the Grand Mufti stressed that 'there is one single culture' in the world, the culture of humankind. Indeed, he said, "we are all building one culture, so I do not believe in the conflict of cultures".

Closing his speech, Dr Hassoun praised Europe today as embodying 'a miracle' in overcoming two world wars and bringing down the Berlin wall without bloodshed. Seeing the European Parliament as a model, he called on the EP 'to help us build a universal parliament'. And since Damascus is this year the Cultural Capital of the Arab World, he asked the EP, as a practical gesture, to hold a meeting there 'to show that the world is one'.

In his introductory speech, European Parliament President Hans-Gert Pöttering said "peaceful coexistence between cultures and religions, both in the European Union and in relations with peoples in all parts of the world, in particular on the other side of the Mediterranean, in the Middle East, is both possible and essential". He added "we must build an intellectual and cultural bridge across the Mediterranean, one founded on mutual enrichment and shared values".

In 2006, the above mentioned German Christian Democrat Hans-Gert Pöttering stated that European school textbooks should be reviewed for intolerant depictions of Islam to ensure they don't propagate prejudice. He suggested that the EU could co-operate with the 56-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference to create a textbook review committee.

Islamic countries are thus supposed to decide what is taught about Islam throughout the European Union. One would assume that 'prejudice' against Islam will include any mention of almost 1400 years of continuous Jihad warfare on several continents, including Europe. This confirms my view that the only way to save Europe now, or even parts of it, is to totally dismantle the entire European Union.

Continued from Part I: "Towards a Common Purpose"

By far the most efficient way for opponents to deal with inevitable but inconvenient conclusions like the present, or the one outlined in Part I, is to label them 'conspiracy theories': it's a prompt, if rather blunt stopper. Not just the conclusion is rendered harmless by dispatch to the realm of urban myths, also the writer is turned for life into an unreliable nutter at best, a paranoid borderline case at worst. Either way, end of story: no serious person would ever stoop to argue with such wild, unscholarly conclusions.

In defence I can only say that there's a difference between seeing ghosts and connecting the dots that are available in open source material for anyone willing to face them; the nuthouse has of course traditionally been the place for dissidents and other thinking undesirables; it will also be so in the totalitarian future: I, for one, am not impressed (intimidated, that is).

It is the duty of organizations like Common Purpose (CP) to smooth the way towards an easy re-alignment of nation states, turning them into regions that make up the post-democratic power blocs (modelled on the old Soviet Union in the case of the EU): to ensure that in the popular perception and in public consensus this is a positive development.

Third Way New Labour in the U.K. - under whose umbrella CP resides - have elevated spin doctoring beyond improvement. The connection of CP with the tarantulas in the web, the Tavistock Institute for the Promotion of the Hive Mind with the Frankfurt School for Intellectual Leftism in the West, clinches the matter (not to mention the omnipresent Rockefeller Foundation, for some reason ever in attendance when some form of social engineering is indicated). For those young enough not to know, the Frankfurt School was simply a hugely successful Fifth Column of Cultural Marxism, that managed to irrevocably subvert entire generations of Leftist Westerners.

Having over the last 30 to 40 years eliminated the encouragement of independent thinking from the educational curriculum, people's cognition today largely remains on the passive, perceptional level, where feelings and emotions are being triggered by outside forces, left unchecked by autonomic rationalization. (Semi-)subliminal manipulation of public opinion has become a black art in which many elitists excel. Nothing new there.

During the German occupation of Holland between 1940 and 1945 some 600 aristocrats, intellectuals and scholars of assorted political affiliation were interned in a seminary in the south of the country, in the village of Sint Michielsgestel. They were in fact hostages, to be lined up and shot in retaliation for eventual acts of resistance.

The ad hoc think-tank that thus took shape, had ample time to work out at leisure how the post war world should be moulded. They came from all walks of life, but the ones that with hindsight took the lead and mostly worked behind the political scenes, can hardly said to be Paleo Conservatives or Classical Liberals. But to state they were all Socialists, or plain Communists, would be telling a lie.

For the most part they were "free-thinking", moderate, Protestants, which in the Dutch social and political kaleidoscopic landscape is not an oxymoron, but an actual denomination, that only in the last decade or so merged with the Left Green Party (GL). Their clergy are of the type that state they don't believe in God anymore, but stay in the job because of the 'social aspects' (great candidates for the Emergent Pomo Church, or How-to-Destruct-the-Church-from-Within!).

The broadcasting network (VPRO) that showed the video footage on the war time hostages just recently, is a remnant of that time. It went from Free-Thinking Protestant (Vrijzinnig Protestant) to Pacifist, and from Socialist to Green and mainstream. It is telling for the state of affairs that this network has been voluntarily delegated the unofficial public broadcasting rights to all historical theme programs! Here's the footage from VPRO's "Andere Tijden" (Dutch).

After liberation a number of hostages entered the institutions of higher education, government and most importantly, they founded and manned forerunners of international fora.

Max Kohnstamm is a typical example. After graduating in history he went to the United States in 1938-1939 to "study the New Deal". After the war - from 1945 to 1948 - he became Queen Wilhelmina's Personal Secretary. From 1952 to 1958 he was Secretary of the High Committee of the Communion for Coal and Steel, the core forerunner of what is now the European Union (EU). He worked shoulder to shoulder with founders Jean Monnet and Schumann. Kohnstamm was VP of Monnet's Action Committee for the United States of Europe, and was of course involved in Bilderberg Conferences. From 1976 to 1981 he was the first President of the European University Institute in Florence and Honorary President of the European Policy Center in Brussels.

Another pedigree worth studying is that of Hendrik Brugmans, one of the intellectual leaders of the European Movement and co-founder and first president of the Union of European Federalists. From 1950 to 1972 Dean of the College of Europe in Bruges, his contribution to the discussions at the ad hoc hostage think-tank being his insistence of the suspension of democratic government for a period of at least five years after World War II.

Willem Schermerhorn, the first post World War II Socialist Prime Minister, ruling The Netherlands from 1945 to 1946, was also the first Dutch Prime Minister who came up with the novelty of appointing civil servants with political backgrounds, never mind the separation of powers! Examples are Jacob (Koos) Vorrink and aforementioned Hendrik Brugmans (nicknamed 'The Schermer Boys").

Vorrink fathered later Socialist Minister Irene Vorrink, who showed her totalitarian credentials by proposing to lace potable water with fluoride compounds with the purpose of combating tooth decay. As her son busied himself with aforementioned "free-thinking" Protestant broadcasting network VPRO, reading for its radio service the daily market rates of pot and grass, mother Irene - as a Minister of Health - diligently worked to get 'soft drugs' legalized and out of the criminal justice system - an accomplishment giving cause to smiles on criminal faces today as far afield as southern Greece. Illustrious people indeed.

Of course these 'builders' didn't reckon with developments in Iran and the Middle East, where national awakening had shifted towards religious identity based on a Dark Age death cult. Muslim emigrants are presently moving all over the globe - in Europe making up for demographic inbalances, a result of Socialist 'familiy planning, or How-to-Destruct-the-Family-Unit-from-Within. Islam is spread like wildfire by means of legal and social blackmail, extortion, intimidation and open aggression, demanding snippets of Sharia law to the imposed on Muslim and infidel alike.

The general idea among the 'builders' is, that the only solution their vision foresees in, is that Islam will just have to adjust, liberalise and be absorbed for The Greater Good. Hence the appeasement in the face of bullying tactics. The builders initially thought in terms of syncretism, intermarriage and pluralism. In the end we move towards Apartheid, multiculturalism's cultural ghettos, prisons to all independent thinkers from whatever background. But terrorism and terror also play into the building hands, as it forms an excuse for enforce and control.

The new Empires will accommodate many races, cultures, religions and ethnicities within virtual, shifting border areas, what today in Europe are termed Euregions. One such, is for example the Maastricht area in the southern Netherlands, with a nearby airport in Germany (Aachen) and an economic dynamic spreading well into Belgian territory (Liege).

Parts of southern England (PDF) are thus becoming twinned to areas in Northern France (PDF: more on EU Truth) of which the capital is Paris. Be prepared for the creation of more such shifting, provisional, legal entities that nominally would reflect linguistic, ethnic and cultural realities on the ground, but that in fact crisscross nation states, creating fault lines and breaking points. No nation thus undermined, will be left standing.

Organized crime will be happy to note that physical borders will become a thing of an unenlightened past when narrow minds thought in geo-political terms of autonomous, assertive nation states. Russia supposedly will align with China, expanding their sphere of influence to the Middle East. The future status of Africa, South America and Australia still seems in doubt, but it is clear that an alignment of Australia with parts of Southeast Asia may be well on the cards.

The North American Union (NAU), constituting the US, Canada and Mexico will include Latinos of Amerindian descent yearning for Aztlan, as Eurabia will include both Shia and Sunni Muslims with dreams of the Caliphate. There will however be no place for such limited interests in the enlightened, interconnected, Kantian realm of perpetual peace that lies beyond history: large post-democratic multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, multi-racial power-sharing entities, in competition with each other for resources. It is driven by geo-economics and presently by rivalry with the sole remaining super power, the United States of America.

This globalization is much closer than we realise. The single, autonomous nation state is actively being phased out. The EU is a fact of life, the NAU seems inevitable, and Eurabia's project is happily advancing along as Europeans are largely unaware of such developments, not being consulted as oligarchies with totalitarian tendencies sign away their native lands.

Problems of integration of Muslims and Latinos are mere symptoms of the ongoing geo-political re-alignment and actually deflect attention away from the main developments, perhaps the reason why problems in that regard are left inexplicably unremedied.

Global warming serves a number of purposes. It is a cash cow for the environment industry and a taxation base (control mechanism) for governments; it is also a myth conduit (see PMF, number 5: Truth by Survey Does Not Exist), as well as a deflector. But more importantly, if it starts looking remarkably like a religion, this is because it is. Environmentalism serves the purpose of a religion in that it focuses the world's attention on a common purpose beyond the narrow mundane, interests - Salvation - and serves a deity to whom sacrifices and libations must be made by the rich: harking back to paganistic animism? Perhaps. But foremost it's Marxist dialectic in action on a global scale.

While the minds are occupied with that and other, bleached means of deflection residing in Hollywood, attention is focused on scarce resources, as the power blocs silently take shape beyond democratic control.

The world is swimming in oil; we're just electing not to exploit and market it (links). It is in fact the creation of an artificial scarcity and all the consequences that entails: high price levels, (arguably) less consumption (if it were a 'normal' commodity), high taxation, government control, distribution, lines and coupons, black markets, crime, and the rest associated with a scarce but essential product. Suggestions invited.

In the nineties - just after the fall of the Berlin Wall - the discussion within libertarian circles was about wealth creation and freedom, in the sense of free markets and creativity versus totalitarian dictatorships, scarcity and poverty. The idea was that wealth is produced by free, democratic countries; the creative process is allowed free reign to produce the innovation driven free market economies. No more.

The world's diplomatic talking shops - the World Trade Organization for instance - have allowed The People's Republic of China to become the global mass production factory of what not, from cheap light bulbs and tooth picks to exclusive brand socks, fridges and cars. China and Vietnam are proving that democracy and civil liberties have nothing to do with the creation of wealth and free trade. Wealth creation is perfectly possible under conditions of global economic planning and unenlightened dictatorships, Communist or otherwise. Money keeps the world go round irrespective of liberty, democracy and free trade!

With that data in hand the global re-alignment into the post-democratic power blocs, empires with elaborate power-sharing arrangements but with limited personal and civil freedoms, with global economic planning, upholding trade barriers in so far as they are part of multilateral agreements - and yet remain wealth creating, has become a real possibility. Either the Soviets did it wrong, or the Union wasn't large enough.

I am merely connecting the OSINT dots. It is not even very relevant if these extrapolations are the result of conscious decisions made by a global cabal, or even a subconscious process supported by a global oligarchy. But I draw the line at it being a natural process or an Act of God. Here's a reminder of the nature of transnational progressivism. Whatever the case may be, the direction of a number of political and economic policy developments is currently taking us in the direction as outlined above.

It's no good asking the builders to leave well alone: scorpions, by nature, sting - builders build. But regarding the matter of freedom, creativity and wealth I just mentioned, I think they'll find that mass copying on the contrary, equals stagnation.

The following might be one of those second rate news items, which I for one, normally ignore because of its obvious irrelevance. It is only when physically confronted with one of the incubators, that consciousness is jerked into full lucidness, and the scope and severity of the detachment from reality begins to register promptly on the brain.

The jaw-dropping ceremony over and blood pressure more or less resuming normal functionality, the full impact of the governments sponsored and tax-payers funded madness becomes apparent. Judge for yourself.

EMHRN: "Article 19 urges UN Committee to address free speech concerns in the United Kingdom"

"Today, the UN Human Rights Committee begins its audit of the United Kingdom’s compliance with its obligations under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). Article 19 has submitted a Report calling on the Committee to question the British Government on a range of issues, including its plans to reduce use of the Freedom of Information Act, the ban on unauthorised demonstrations near Parliament Square and the high cost of defending libel suits in the UK. While the Article 19 Report finds that respect for freedom of expression in Britain is generally good, it points to an erosion of the right to protest as well as a failure to address a number of long-standing issues. The United Kingdom is yet to act on problems identified by the UN several years ago in the UK’s Freedom of Information Act and Official Secrets Act. Instead, steps are being considered to curtail access to information." Et cetera, et cetera.

The unpronounceable acronym EMHRN is the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network, one of Euro-Arabian talking shops as brought in evidence by the author Bat Ye'or in "Eurabia". Its main task appears to be the production of a plethora of invective, directed at the state of Israel.


Buy your blood pressure a day of exercise in Jungle Land and feast your eyes on "In view of the Sub-committee on political dialogue and cooperation between the EU and Israel" dated 22 October 2007:

"The human rights situation in the Gaza Strip is constantly deteriorating. Serious violations of human rights and international humanitarian law have been and continue to be committed by the parties to the internal Palestinian conflict. The main reason however are serious violations of human rights perpetrated by Israel, the occupying power, including extra-judicial executions. EMHRN believes that Israeli bombardment of civilian areas and other attacks on civilians and civilian objects, as well as the policy of isolation and collective punishment may constitute war crimes. While Israel justifies these measures as responses to rocket attacks by Palestinian armed groups on Israeli population centres, they are disproportionate and regularly fail to distinguish civilians and combatants."

The Palestinian Katyusha handiwork being veritable precision instruments! Could it be that the redistribution of speech actually extends to a redistribution of the right to lie (mental note: investigate and revert!). Read it all (PDF)! I'm on medication.

If the United Nations Human Rights Commission c.q. Council is anything to go by, the campaign against Israel may in fact be the organization's main raison d'etre, advocacy to "delete the border" being a close second. But I'm sure that taking to task the proud nations of Europe over 'violations' under the mono-lateral redistribution of speech rights regime, as recently Saudi Arabia in Copenhagen had the pleasure of doing, constitutes an important platform to further push the Islamization card.
