For a last instalment of the series on Geert Wilders, returning briefly to his address last Friday at the OMNI SHOREHAM in Washington, DC (CPAC), at the invitation of the David Horowitz Freedom Center, Atlas Shrugs, Jihad Watch, and Dr. Andrew Bostom. Atlas has posted a video (below) showing the main speeches.
Read a complete account of the evening on Atlas. Be sure not to miss the video, containing rather important statements by Andrew Bostom and Robert Spencer.

Wilders Hits US Talk Show Circuit
Rob Piccoli over on Wind Rose Hotel has an excellent post up on the “Premio Oriana Fallaci”, Geert Wilders and the pernicious machinations of one of the most dangerous organizations of our time: the Organization of Islamic Conferences (OIC).
Some have suggested - amongst others the author of "Eurabia", Bat Yeor - that it is this massive lobby group that has pressured the Amsterdam Appeals Court into indicting Wilders. It says something about the politization of the course of justice that this morning's article in the Dutch paper De Pers states that Wilders is being prosecuted for making "anti Islamic statements". The text of the indictment is less straight forward, but it boils down to precisely that.
You can read a digest on Articles at the moment and here's the entire post. Here's one excerpt:
"(...) The OIC is one of the largest intergovernmental organizations in the world. It encompasses 56 Muslim states plus the Palestinian Authority. Spread over four continents, it claims to speak in the name of the ummah (the universal Muslim community), which numbers about 1.3 billion. The OIC’s mission is to unite all Muslims worldwide (...)"
Here's a clip of Wilders in an interview with Bill O'Reilly on Fox News.
O'Reilly is challenging Wilders that "what good does "Fitna" do, since everyone knows by now that Islamism is a totalitarian ideology". That's precisely the problem, isn't it? They should know and could know, but the psychological mechanism of denial kicks in so that they do not have to deal with a major threat!
If you want and care to keep abreast of the situation re the Third Jihad, there are a few new sites you might care to check out.
Vorzheva of the blog World Challenges of the XXIst Century has taken the initiative of starting an aggregate of the counter-jihadist movement, the Anti Islamist Coalition. You'll find such fine blogs as Infidels Are Cool and Muslims Against Sharia posting there.
Radical Islam.org is a great website, featuring for example Frank Gaffney, Jr exploring the pregnant question, "Where are the Liberal Muslims?" It stresses what we've been saying for some time. It just stands to reason that those in the West who are dancing to the Islamic tune - postmodernists, and a plethora of Leftist groups (Dutch language link) - are actually strengthening, aiding and abetting the radicals, not supporting the moderates. They are left out in the cold with nowhere to go. Check it out! It's outrageous! Read the comments too!
Wilders interview with Glenn Beck underlines another hazard to watch closely: the next stage in the disease called political correctness. Paired to "prosecution for anti Islamic statements" we see there's the tendency since the onset of Obama - and this is visible in Europe as well as the US - that opposition is somehow out of the moral order. This is dangerous stuff we need to keep a close eye on. Listen to Glenn!
Updating throughout.
The Daily Beast in "The Anti-Islam Film Everyone's Talking About" is the first to run against the apparent inconsistency in Wilders' logic. The idea however of a European "First Amendment" is a development that has come up only in the last couple of days.
"(...) Wilders has called for banning the Koran entirely. How does he reconcile this position with his new party platform as free speech martyr? (...)", asks the Daily Beast.
Andrew G. Bostom in an article on American Thinker clarified: "Wilders' demand is simply precision and consistency in the application of the law: "Wilders compared the Koran to Mein Kampf and called it hate speech according to the Dutch Penal Code".
Up next ... this was only to be expected! After just watching this vid as an example of transnational Islamization frankly nothing should surprise us any more ...
Atlas Shrugs: "ACTION ALERT: SENATOR KYL UNDER PRESSURE FOR HOSTING FITNA"
(...) There is a low grade civil war taking place in America. Just because the media is too afraid to report on it doesn't mean it's not happening. (...) Please contact Senator Kyl and declare your support for his courageous decision to show this honest and accurate but politically incorrect film. He needs expressions of support more than ever today! (...)
AN EVENING WITH GEERT WILDERS
Wilders, the foremost defender of free speech in the modern age, will deliver an address at a reception at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, site of the Conservative Political Action Conference, on Friday, February 27, at 6:00PM. (...) The reception is sponsored by the David Horowitz Freedom Center, Atlas Shrugs, Jihad Watch, and Dr. Andrew Bostom. It is open to the public. (...) >>>

Geert Goes to Washington DC ... and Stays Put
After the honor of pocketing the freedom award in Italy last week, today Dutch MP Geert Wilders is off to our guarantor of free speech (at least, we hope so), the cradle of Liberty, the United States of America. He does so at the invitation of the influential Republican Senator for Arizona, Jon Kyl.
Last Thursday's event in Rome included a ceremony during which Wilders was awarded the Oriana Fallaci Free Speech Award, an honor that recognizes him, like the late Italian author and journalist, as a “symbol of the fight against Islamic Fascism and a knight of the freedom of humankind.”
Wilders noted the objectives of his "Facing Jihad" world tour:
“This event is part of the ‘Facing Jihad’ world tour for "Fitna" that will serve to expose Islam for what it is: an ideology that preaches terrorism, antisemitism and the oppression of women, homosexuals and non-Muslims”, Wilders said.
“Educating the public about the harsh realities of Islamization is the first step to effectively combating and ultimately defeating Global Jihad”.
But after his confrontation with the UK's Labor Government of Gordon Brown last week which barred him from entering Britain on account of "endangering community harmony", today he's off to the US where he will be showing "Fitna" to the Senate at the invitation of Senator Jon Kyl.
Individual Liberty and the Freedom of Speech being carved into the bedrock in that nation, Wilders doesn't expect any similar problems with Home Office officials there. Neither did he have any last week when entering Italy. It says a lot about the state of affairs in Britain today, no longer great! by any standard save one.
The showing in the American Senate will be followed by an informal discussion, in which the topic will be the state of the freedom of expression in Europe. Senator Kyl in his invitation referred to the enormous controversy sparked by Britain's ban.
Isn't that a first class embarrassment, after the Americans had to bail out Europe from various collectivist adventures a number of times over the last century?! Apparently we're still clueless how to safeguard our own values and keep them.
There has been a debate in The Hague Parliament over the Wilders ban, but the Dutch Government, while initially speaking up for a parliamentarian's right to do his job in any of the EU member states, have now dug in their heels and refuse to bring up the case in the wider political European arena.
The loyalties of the Christian Democrat Government apparently aren't as much to Liberty (not part of their political philosophy, after all) but rather to fellow 'confessionals' under the banner of - as Pat Condell put it - "any religious value in society is better than none".
Wilders will also visit New York and Boston this week, where he will host press meetings, grant interviews and feature in a number of MSM talk shows in order to raise money for his legal fund. While he's having to bear the costs of appealing the British ban, he's also facing mounting legal expenses defending against the indictment for "inciting hatred" extended to him by the Amsterdam Court of Political Correctness and Dhimmidom. (Hit the donate button on top of this page if you want to contribute.)
In an article on American Thinker author Andrew G. Bostom clarifies that what Wilders demands is simply precision and consistency in the application of the law: "Wilders compared the Koran to Mein Kampf and called it hate speech according to the Dutch Penal Code". In a 2008 post Bostom collates Wilders' view with historical comments made by Winston Churchill on the same subject.
He's also breaking the news that Wilders is now proposing a European First Amendment. Well, not a moment too soon to rid ourselves of the politically correct perversion that is 'hate speech'. Short of actual and proven incitement to murder it has no place in a mature society.
Bostom also interestingly calls to mind a very similar case as Wilders' Fitna, compiled in a book by Sita Ram Goel dating back to 1986 known as "The Calcutta Quran Petition" (peruse it here) (buy it here). The given aim of the book reads: "(...) to promote a public discussion of Islam as a religion, particularly its claim that every bit of the Quran and the Hadis has a divine source. This claim is used at present to prevent a close examination of what the book contains and what message Islam has for mankind at large".
Faith Freedom explains:
Three heroic sons of India, namely Sri Chandmal Chopra, advocate of Calcutta High Court, Sri Hamangshu Kumar Chakraborthy and Sri Sital Singh filed an application in the Calcutta High Court (...) to declare each copy of the Quran (...) forfeited to the government. In their petition they stated, among other things, the following reasons:
(...) the book contains words or sayings which promote, on ground of religion, disharmony, enmity, hatred or ill-will between different religious communities or which outrage the religious feelings of any class of citizens of India or insult the religion or religious beliefs of that class of people. Two Hindus were arrested - under Indian law exploited by Muslims to prevent public criticism of their faith - for publishing a poster which simply cited 24 Koranic verses with a caption “Why riots take place in this country.”
The accused were eventually acquitted by a magistrate who opined, that close perusal of the citations shows that they are harmful, teach hatred, and ... how can we put that succinctly ... generally endanger community harmony.

Geert Wilders: Persona Non Grata in Britain
Sit down for this one.
On behalf of the British Government, her Majesty's ambassador to the Netherlands has served Dutch MP Geert Wilders today with a letter, declaring him persona non grata in UK.
Wilders is due on Thursday for a screening of his short film "Fitna" on the invitation of Lord Malcolm Pearson, member of the House of Lords for the euroskeptic UK Independence Party.
Wilders will be arrested on entering the U.K. The official ground for Wilders' banning is "endangering community harmony and therefore the public safety".
Wilders: "Great Britain is sacrificing the freedom of speech. You would expect something like this to happen in a country like Saudi Arabia, but not in Great Britain. This cowardly act by the British government is a disgrace. I was invited by a British member of parliament."
The Dutch Foreign Minister as well the House Speaker have protested the British Government's decision.
The British Labour Government have nothing to say for themselves, declining to "comment on individual cases". (At the moment of publishing we are anxiously awaiting tonight's broadcast of News Night - forget it: story has been buried by the BBC).
The invitation is actually an extension of an earlier request. The screening at the Lords had originally been planned for January 29 , but was postponed because Lord Nazi Ahmed, a Muslim member of the House of Lords (Labour), had threatened to take 10,000 Muslims to the streets to physically prevent Wilders from entering the House.
Lord Malcolm denies the postponement was in reaction to the threats. If Wilders doesn't show or gets arrested, screening of "Fitna" will take place nevertheless. Also on the program is a 1999 production called "Kill or be Killed", an even more "inflammatory" document than Wilders' indictment of the Koran. Afterwards a panel discussion will be held with Muslim scholars.
Wilders meanwhile, is pondering to travel any way and dare the British to throw him in jail the moment he presents himself at Heathrow airport.
In case you're wondering how things could have come this far, watch this (no, your eyes are not deceiving you: this is the proud Metropolitan police force being chased through the streets of London by demonstrating thugs).
Contribute here to Wilders' legal fund.
Read more on the case on the site of the International Free Press Society.

Politicians Under Fire by Loose Pomo Canons (updated)
Today we witness two separate cases of the primacy of politics being overrun by postmodern servants of the law.
Do you remember the police searching and ransacking Britain's MP Damian Green's office last year? Well it's happened again - but then, should we be surprised of such assaults, with the British police's infestation with Common Purpose members - employees and civil servants who's motto is to "act beyond authority"?
In the Netherlands it was announced today that counter-jihad MP Geert Wilders will be prosecuted after all, despite earlier extensive investigations, conducted over a period of over six months, that concluded there was no case.
But first, let's return to Britain.
BBC: "Police 'entered Tory MP's office'"
A Conservative MP has alleged that police entered his Commons office without a search warrant demanding to see constituency correspondence. Daniel Kawczynski said he found it "disgraceful" after the controversy over the arrest of shadow immigration minister Damian Green last year. (...) He said he had been informed by his office about a police raid as he was due to make a speech in a debate. (...) Fellow Tory MP Tobias Ellwood demanded that Home Secretary Jacqui Smith make a statement to MPs about the matter. (...) >>>
Of course it can always get worse. Geert Wilders was in for a shock when a 33 page indictment landed on his desk this morning. It accuses as well as convicts him of disseminating hatred, by lumping the Koran with Corporal Hitler's war manual "Mein Kampf", and calling for an end to unbridled immigration from Islamic countries of origin, to the Netherlands.
Think for a moment of the abomination of subordinating the freedom of speech - of an MP no less - to the' right' of a religious group not to be insulted; a minority we might add, who are outraged to the limits of their tolerance, at the drop of a hat.
The subjective right not to be insulted is considered primary over the objective freedom of speech, while the equalizers are out in force, pointing out how shocking it would be of someone were to call for an end to Jewish or Christian immigration to the country (honest! I'm not making this up!).
To cite this CNN item, the video "Fitna" "includes images of terror attacks; bloodied victims; beheadings of hostages; executions of women in hijab, the traditional full-body covering; and footage, with subtitles, of Islamic leaders preaching inflammatory sermons against Jews and Christians" ...
... and none of that is actually happening and it is unrelated to the noble religion of peace, let alone that lumping that faith with Nazism would be in order.
Wilders raising the matter on the other hand - as is his duty as an MP - is "inciting hatred" on a par with Rwanda's Milles Collines hate radio. This statement was just made by one of the pomo lawyers who lodged the complaint against Wilders.
But to the reality denier everything is 'the same': sound waves and violence, uniforms and Nazis, male sexuality and rape; the murder of whales is a daily occurrence in their version of the universe. They draw the line at terrorism and ... well, terror.
You get a measure of the hypocrisy of the people involved, when you realize that these defenders of Islamic religious groups don't hesitate to press charges against a segment of the Christian community for their refusal to allow women membership of their political party on Biblical grounds. The dialectics at work.
The world has been turned on its head. It is a clear example of 'thought creates reality'. Reality is not an objective state of affairs, independent of human thought, but rather the result of it. So, if Wilders can be made to shut up, all will be well in the universe of atoms and molecules (so they believe).
But what the pomo sympathizers of Islam are doing on a moral level, is providing succor to fanatics while leaving potential moderate reformers out in the cold.
On the other hand, Wilders' denunciation of radical Islam would trigger liberals to stop tolerating their religion being hijacked by radicals. Once that awakening takes place, we might actually get somewhere.
The appeasement of evil has never led anywhere. Anyone with half a brain cell can understand that. The postmodernists, for all the indignation, have an entirely different agenda!
You can sign a petition in support of Wilders and civil liberties here, and here's a link to the Facebook Group.
You can also watch "Fitna" on our Vodpod and see how intolerant it is of the intolerant.

It does not exaggerate the case to say that Wilders is being accused of nothing more than holding an opinion with which the court’s judges disagree. (One cannot call it an unpopular opinion since, if recent polling is any guide, majorities of the Dutch public share Wilders’s apprehensions about Islam and Muslims' ability to assimilate.) Waking Up To Islamization: Two Islam Films Hitting Screen
Is the liberation of Islam coming from America? Will the American ethos of self-government save the religion from itself.
Experts have said it for some time now, and we heartily support the premise: it is up to Muslims to liberalize Islam, to turn it into a force for the good, instead of using it as an ideology and a vehicle for religious conquest.
The hero of the day is the narrator of the film"The Third Jihad", Dr Zuhdi Jasser, an American and a devout Muslim. Watch his statements here in an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News!
Here are more links:

The Facebook fan group
In the Netherlands today a second movie, critical of Islam hits the screens.
It's made by a young Dutch-Iranian Labour politician and Muslim apostate, Ehsan Jami. Like the other outspoken Islam critic, Geert Wilders, Jami is under constant threat by radical elements.
The Dutch Government keeps dealing spasmodically with anti Islam films. As with Geert Wilders' film "Fitna", embassies are being fortified, politicians and appeasers are crying foul before they've even seen the film, and security services are working 24/7 to update their risk analyses.
Ehsan Jami doesn't consider the movie anti Islam though. In the documentary Jami 'interviews' an anonymous actor, who plays the role of the Prophet Mohammed.
The Dutch MSM, still very much focussed on the traditional 'old media', were giving Jami initially a hard time getting his film screened. He had planned it to go into premiere on Human Rights Day, but the television broadcasters backed down. Today it will hit the screen in The Hague at the International Press Center Nieuwspoort.
It's up to Muslims how they will deal with the artistic critique: the first from within, the second by an apostate. Will almost certainly be continued ...

Bloggers Against Legal Jihad
Geert Wilders, Dutch MP and producer of the short film "Fitna," a video document which explains the perils of Sharia law for democratic values (can be seen here), has received a summons from a lawyer to pay radical imam Fawaz Jneid before next Sunday an advance payment of EUR 20,000 in compensation for damages the imam suffered through accusations Wilders made against him in "Fitna." In total the damages claimed amount to EUR 55,000.
Prime Minister Balkenende, currently attending the Sarkozy 'Club Med' circus in Paris, will come to speak with Jordan's PM about the Jordanian decision to seek Wilders' prosecution through the kingdom's Courts.
Hate imam Fawaz Jneid who is associated with the infamous As-Souna Mosque in The Hague has cursed defenders of Western values like Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Theo van Gogh and Afshin Ellian in truly shocking terms. Wilders in a reaction speaks of moral inversion. He isn't impressed and vowed to pay not even 55 cents.

The issue doesn't stand on its own. Articles dossier "Legal Jihad" lists many such matters from all over the globe. But personal damage claims do seem to be a new trend in the war on the West. Pamela Geller, over on Atlas Shrugs relays a similar case.
"Litigation jihad is one of the most venal and effective weapons in the jihad assault on Western civilization. Hamas is suing UK blogger over a tiny detail (...) The little guy up against those bloody petrol dollars. One has to wonder if Hamas is using US State department funds to pursue this?" Yeah, or Dutch and EU development funds, for that matter?
"A British blog called Harry’s Place is being sued by Mohammed Sawalha for posting a variant of a translated phrase from one of the plaintiff’s speeches. Lest you think of Mr. Sawalha as an innocent lamb, consider that even the BBC (yes, even the Beeb!) says that he “master minded much of Hamas' political and military strategy” and in the UK “is alleged to have directed funds, both for Hamas' armed wing, and for spreading its missionary dawah”.Dangerous stuff, we're trying to get as many bloggers as possible to react to it. Join the list of supporting blogs. The British blogs have already amassed together. A blogburst has been started at NeoConstant in support of Harry’s Place (and here's the original blogburst post) (...).
It looks like Harry’s Place is going up against some pretty top-notch lawyers on this one, and they’ve got guts, but as the post goes on to say: If Mr Sawalha persists in attempting to silence us with this desperate legal suit, we will need your help. We won’t be able to stand up to them alone. This is why we’ve started this blogburst, to get the word out that we won’t let members of Hamas or any radical terrorist group censor us or any of our fellow bloggers.
If you’d like to add your site to the blogroll, simply email us at admin@neoconstant.com, and include your site’s URL. Then copy and paste this entry into one of your posts. Future posts will be emailed to you. Thanks, and don’t forget to head over to Harry’s Place to show your support of their freedom of speech!

More Charges Against Wilders Dropped: blow for theofascism
After having been acquitted of charges brought by the Dutch Islamic Federation (NIF) of disseminating hatred and calls for violence against Muslims in April by a Dutch Court, today the Public Prosecutor also dropped charges against Freedom Party leader Geert Wilders.
The Public Prosecutor had been trying to put a case together against Wilders since 2006. Mainly after the publication of the short film "Fitna" and an op-ed in a Dutch newspaper, dozens of charges were brought. But in a press conference today in Amsterdam the Chief Prosecutor said neither the video nor Wilders' statements about Muslims and the Koran in general are deemed unlawful.
All together some forty charges were brought by lawyers, Muslim and student organizations and individuals. In the op-ed 'Enough is Enough' in August last year Wilders wrote inter alia that the Koran constitutes a "fascist book," on par with Hitler's "Mein Kampf" and should be banned.
The Freedom Party leader is not surprised by the ruling. "From the outset I knew I kept within the framework of Dutch law. I am pleased the Prosecution Office sees that as well," Wilders said.
Besides the appeals there is still the matter of the Jordanian Court requesting the extradition and prosecution of Wilders for racism, incitement to hatred and insulting Muslims and Islam.
In the matter of the ongoing legal jihad against the West these rulings are not without significance: they are a victory for liberty and democracy and hopefully the beginning of the end of the theofascist inroads by the forces of darkness.
Update on the day after:
Elsevier today opines a ruling would have created clarity and jurisprudence, and would therefore have been preferable. Given the number of appeals, they might get their wish after all.
A public media commentator yesterday represented the worst the country has to offer by way of embarrassed pussy-footing - an interpretation to the effect that "the judiciary chose not to become a party in a political debate."

Liberty Ditched for Sausages: boycott these cowards!
Last Friday we reported here that Jordan is seeking the extradition and prosecution of Dutch Freedom Party politician Geert Wilders on three counts:
- racism - incitement to hatred - insulting Muslims and Islam -
An Amman Court last Monday accepted the charges against Wilders on account of the short film "Fitna" pressed by a Jordanian group called "The Messenger of Allah Unites Us." "Fitna" outlines the dangers of radical Islam for democratic society. (Link to "Fitna")
Today we know which Dutch companies have 'distanced themselves' from Fitna. Politeia proposes a ban of its own against these companies which sell out democratic principles for sausages:
- KLM (KLM-Air France-North West Airlines)
- Philips ("We make things better")
- Friesland Foods (dairy products:
- Friso (Nutricia, Olvarit, Nutrilon, Bambix dairy and baby foods)
- Milupa (Aptamil - we believe the latter two are all one and the same parent company Nutricia, now part of Danone)
The companies advertise their condemnation of Wilders' equation Islam=violence and distribute posters, stating that the film only serves to provoke.
President Zakaria Sheikh of "The Messenger of Allah Unites Us" is calling for the travel industry to ban KLM.
The publisher of weekly Fact International says the film has no relation with the freedom of expression. "Wilders has insulted all Muslims. He must be punished."
At the companies no one was available for comment, writes De Volkskrant. A KLM spokesman repeated an earlier statement that the airline is unrelated to political and religious movements and distances itself from this controversial film."
Post will be updated throughout.

Wilders Prosecuted by Jordanian Court (I)
Elsevier Magazine is reporting that Jordan intends to seek the prosecution of Dutch Freedom Party (PVV) leader Geert Wilders in relation to "Fitna," a short film produced by Wilders that outlines the dangers of radical Islam for democratic society. (Link to "Fitna")
An Amman Court on Monday accepted the charges against Wilders pressed by a Jordanian group called "The Messenger of Allah Unites Us."
Wilders is accused of racism, incitement to hatred and insulting Muslims and Islam. This will be an important test-case in respect of legal Jihad.
According to Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant both the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the terrorism czar are on the case because of the implications the matter could have for freedom of expression in the Netherlands. For once it seems the Government is siding with liberty instead of signaling inter-religious solidarity.
Wilders, fearing arrest, has welcomed the Government support. "Fortunately it's taken seriously. This is hugely impacting my activities as a politician," Wilders said.
He fears the court will proceed quickly with issuing an international arrest warrant. He expects it next week.
Jordan has several options to get Wilders extradited: to have the request distributed via Interpol, or issue direct requests to countries where Wilders is visiting.
As long as Wilders remains in the Netherlands there is no problem.
The Jordanian group behind the indictment is also organizing a boycott against Dutch products.
Here's a link to a speech Wilders' recently delivered in Copenhagen, explaining his reasons for producing the film.
Continued and updated in Part II.

On the day AQ exacts revenge for the 'Danish cartoons' by blowing the Embassy in Pakistan to smithereens (claiming six shahids, one of whom a small child - what gives, no one is innocent!), and the Finns threw liberty to the four winds and forfeited their right to call themselves free citizens in a free nation ...
- read all about their shame on Atlas Shrugs' post "Finnish Blogger Gets Two Years 'Insensitivity Against Islam'"-... Geert Wilders delivered a most uplifting speech at the Copenhagen Parliament Building - Hat Tip: Snaphanen DK via Atlas. So proud! He's a knight in shining armor!

"Cleave the Necks of the Infidels" (why do we bother?)
The following is a free translation of a column dated 2nd May last, "Cleave the necks of the Infidels," written by Dutch-Iranian Professor Afshin Ellian (41), a columnist at Elsevier Magazine.
Not in the Netherlands, but in the Middle East rages a substantial debate over Dutch politician Geert Wilders' movie "Fitna."
The Iranian-Islamic response to "Fitna" is a short film in which an Iranian imam responds to Wilders on the basis of different scenes from "Fitna."
In the response we see a member of the Iranian clergy and a few scenes from "Fitna."
Justification
1. The first part of "Fitna" consists of citations from the Koran and closely linked violent events and statements. The film begins with a verse that is regularly brought up by radical Muslims as a justification for terrorist acts: "Prepare against them what you can in power and cavalry so as to terrorise your enemy and Allah's enemy."
The entire verse in the translation of Professor Fred Leemhuis reads as follows: "And deploy against them as much as possible the available weapons and horses to raise fear in God's enemy and your enemy and others whom you do not know, but who are known to God. And whatever you contribute to God's path will be reimbursed and you will not be dealt with unjustly." (8:60)
Can the word 'turhibuuna' here be understood as 'terror?' To raise fear, means to terrorise. In the Al-Azhar (Egypt) approved English translation by Islam scholar Majid Fakhry, the word used is ' to terrify.' And in the interpretive Persian translation of the Koran (used by the Ayatollahs) two words are used: cheating and to raise fear.
Now the Iranian commentator says that Allah here merely requests perpetual preparedness and strength. So one has to be properly armed to be able to incite fear. Is that a correct interpretation? Surely from that verse we cannot deduce that Muslims should passively arm themselves for a state of cold war? He confuses the arms strategy of his own regime with the extensive scope of these verses.
Monkeys
2. Subsequently anti-Jewish images are being shown. They are monkeys and must be killed. The commentator keeps mum about the relevant Hadith (traditions of the prophet) which calls for Jews to be killed. But on that specific Koran verse he says that Allah only described the Jews of that time as monkeys. Is that true? Again I checked the Koran. No, it is about Jews who break their covenant with Allah. These are all Jews, then and now.
Here are a few more Koran citations:
"You know about those who were with you in violation of the Sabbath. We said to them: "You are chased monkeys." So We made a terrifying example of them for their own time and later, which will encourage those who fear God." (2:65-66)
"Say: Shall I tell you something which is even worse than Allah's revenge? Who is cursed by Allah and who have caused his wrath and whom He made into monkeys and pigs, who serve the Taghout; they are in the worst place and the furthest astray from the right path. " (5:60)
"And when they looked with contempt upon that which was forbidden, We said to them: "Be ye chased monkeys." (7:166)
Massacre
3. There is a verse which asserts: 'When ye therefore have a meeting with those who are infidels, cleave their necks and when you have massacred them, bind them in shackles. "
Here a problem arises, which Professor Leemhuis interpreted as follows:
"And when you meet the infidels [in the fight] beat them to death, but when you have dominance over them bind them tightly, either to release them later as a favour to them or to release them for ransom when the burdens of war have been redeemed. So it is. And if God wanted He would avenge himself on them, but he wants to test you. And those who have been slain on God's path, their acts will not be in vain." (47: 4)
This is an incorrect translation. Does Allah demand the jihadists to cleave necks or merely to slay during the struggle? Is the word 'neck' being used? The word 'raghaba' simply means neck. That is what is says in the translation used by the Ayatollahs and also in the Al-Azhar approved translation of Professor Fakhry: "So, when you meet the infidels, strike their necks till you have shed blood, then fasten the shackles. (…). "
Friendlier
It is therefore 'cleave the neck,' not 'slay them.' Ironically, it was precisely Leemhuis who criticized "Fitna," at least with regard to the translation of the Koranic verses. These are however correct translations done by Professor Hans Jansen. No doubt the message is friendlier if one omits the word 'neck.'
The situation becomes even worse if we consider that there are radical Muslims who behead people. Unlike Leemhuis the Iranian imam/commentator found no fault with the translation. The clerics are better in Arabic than in Persian.
In defence the Iranian imam claims that be-headings are only permitted in a state of war. Probably in his view only the Middle East is considered a war zone.
Confused
Yet, he is very confused. He thinks the man who's being decapitated in "Fitna" is Theo van Gogh. For obvious reasons it is very difficult for him to express approval of the beheading [sic] of Theo van Gogh in Amsterdam.
The decapitated man in "Fitna" is Eugene Armstrong: an American who was beheaded in Iraq (September 2004) by Tawhid wal Jihad. Europe and North America [sic] are at war with radical Salafism; this is why Salafists believe this verse (on the decapitation) applies to the enemies of Islam.
Headlines
The Iranian propaganda imam is well informed about the Netherlands. He cites Ehsan Jami, a 23-year-old boy who has been living in the Netherlands from the age of nine. He responds to the roughing up of Jami (headlines Fitna). Jami is a 'murtadd' (an apostate), moreover has founded a party for 'mortaddin' (apostates), said this imam. And that is about all he says.
Why? Because he knows that Iranian viewers think threats and abuse are normal treatment for apostates. Who is perverting reality here? Not Wilders, but the defenders of Islam.

"Fitna": a Word like Jihad
Present article "Islamisering is allang binnengelopen" (Islamization is already upon us) by interpreter and author Nahed Selim was first published in Dutch newspaper "Trouw" on 5th April 2008. We hereby post a free translation. - Hat tip: Muslims Against Sharia
On 30th March Dutch Islamic Broadcasting (NIO) aired responses from Egypt to (Geert Wilders' video) "Fitna". A Protestant minister weighed in. Besides the usual rants about respect and insults he also appeared to be incensed over the title of the film. He wondered if the director knew what fitna actually means.
Judging from what the director said in the Parool newspaper on 9th February it is clear that Geert Wilders is indeed aware of its significance. "Every Muslim knows the Arabic word fitna," says the Freedom Party (PVV) leader (Wilders).
"It concerns situations in which a Muslim's belief is put to the test: uncovered women, alcohol, infidels, resistance against the authority of Islam. I use the term in the reverse sense: to me the corruption of Islam means fitna." Wilders has been taken by the idea. "I wanted a word from the Koran."

"Fitna": of Farce and Fall-out IV
- Continued from Part III -
Geert Wilders has today been acquitted of charges brought by the Dutch Islamic Federation (NIF) of disseminating hatred and calls for violence against Muslims. Wilders is delighted with the verdict. The judge has found Wilders "provocative from time to time" but ruled that a Member of Parliament must be able to express his point of view. In a response Wilders said he never had the feeling he crossed the line in the debate over Islam in any way.
- Caption: the new cartoon by "Scarlet Pimpernel" -
NIF's original objective was to restrict the screening of the film "Fitna", but Wilders published the film on the eve of the lawsuit on the Internet. A new lawsuit brought by NIF wanted Wilders muzzled altogether, but the Court deemed Wilders' opinions not unlawful. NIF charged Wilders' collating of the Koran with Fascism, and calling Mohammed a barbarian, as unlawful. According to the verdict Wilders does not need to rectify, as that would amount to an apology. Such would go against the freedom of expression.
Wilders yesterday published a rectified version of "Fitna" (see part III). In a few days we will post in these pages an English translation of an in-depth article about the meaning of the term fitna, which to Muslims is just as significant as Jihad.

Update: The importance of this verdict cannot be overestimated! It shatters Leftist Pavlovian propaganda that attacks every and any opponent as Fascist, whether appropriate or not! Take this commentary as an example:
Prague Daily Monitor: "Racist, xenophobic, legal"
The far-right National Party has published a controversial anti-Muslim film by a Dutch MP on its website in a bid to attract attention that could help it gain seats in parliament some day. The Workers' Party, siding with neo-Nazis, never hesitates to throw offences at minorities. "[These parties] have a chance to succeed in regions with a high crime rate and ethnic problems," says political analyst Miroslav Mareš. >>>
N.very B. I don't care to know about the Czech (Rightist Socialist) Workers' Party, but again for the hard of hearing! WILDERS IS A LIBERTARIAN, his operative unit is the individual, not the collective, and he is pro CAPITALISM!!!! Fascism and National Socialism are part of the Socialist family too: both collective, both anti-capitalism. Ever heard of Mussolini's creation, the Socialist Republic of Italy? Read political philosophy! The "extreme Right" strategy ("fasc!") has collapsed with this verdict!

"Fitna": of Farce and Fall-out III
As outlined in part II of what turns out to be a series of posts on the fall-out of Geert Wilders' video "Fitna" (now taken to mean simply 'Strife'), Wilders was threatened with a number of lawsuits, least of which not by Mo cartoon contributor Westergaard - the drafter of the 'turbomb' - now generally looked upon as a traitor to the Causes of Liberty.
A new cartoon has been created by 'Pimpernel'. Scarlet Pimpernel is credited in the video as director, as well as Wilders' co-producer. As is well known such mythical figures remain illusive, yet may live amongst us. They seek him here, they seek him there, they seek him everywhere ...Under the combined pressure of the Dutch government, the Anti-Terror Czar, the surrender brigade and Muslim Rage, more have been breaking ranks. An excerpt from an interview with Theo van Gogh is still included in the new version, but initially the interviewer registered objection against the use of the audio footage. He's being compensated for his trouble by a three hours long interview with Wilders. We'll be looking forward to that!
Also an obscure Dutch-Moroccan rapper is making waves. He purposely had himself portrayed as Theo van Gogh's assassin Bouyeri, upon which he complained that his photo was mistaken for that of Bouyeri. On top of that he bitterly laments to the judge the fact that it took Wilders ten whole days to create a new version of the film, in which time over 10 million people world-wide have mistakenly taken his noble countenance as that of the blood-thirsty zealot for Islam. Adherence to the Law of Causality is not a postmodern virtue.
For what it is worth, until LiveLeak succumbs here the new, rectified version of "Fitna".

"Fitna": of Farce and Fall-out II
A number of mistakes, some of which could well end up in Court, will be keeping Wilders busy for some time to come. Whereas he released the original video on LiveLeak (since removed due to threats) the number of viral copies out in cyberspace in the meanwhile has proliferated. Our own copy - courtesy The Jawa Report - will be replaced whenever we can find a rectified version.
Rapper Salah Edin had himself portrayed like Theo van Gogh's Assassin, Boyeri, the 'rationalisation' for which was to 'prove' that not all Moroccans are like Boyeri. He is now complaining Wilders took his photo for Boyeri's mug shot.
In Indonesia, a group of some 40 hard-liners from the Islamic Defenders Front, known to have rallied violently in the past against Western targets, gathered outside the Dutch embassy in Jakarta on Monday, calling for the death of Geert Wilders for insulting Islam.
Twenty-six member countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), which is lobbying for the world-wide criminalization of Islamophobia, have requested the Dutch Foreign Minister to see if legal action against Wilders is possible. A la Lanterne with the bstd!
The Jordanians are also going crescendo over the perceived 'insult': fifty-three MPs signed a petition and presented it to Premier Nader Dahabi, demanding the Dutch ambassador to be expelled and heads ... eh, ties severed.
As if the Muslim world isn't plagued already by any form of dysfunctionality imaginable. Speaking of which, the shrink has outdone herself once again in an insightful posting entitled "Morally Twisted" (in which she compares Palestine and Tibet). But get this:
"The cycle of violence is not simply destined to perpetuate itself - the cycle of violence is reinforced and ever escalating. Dysfunctional behaviors that were unknown or unheard of before have become commonplace. The self destructive behavior of the Palestinians comes about as the result of the integration of exaggerated love and exaggerated hate into a fused single exaggerated emotion. What distinguishes the two becomes no more than a blurred idea. Thus, violence directed at each other is as appropriate as violence directed at the Israelis. This kind of diseased thinking is not just about violence. Even the wildest conspiracy theories, widely welcomed and accepted, become a reflection of a dysfunctional defense mechanism and absurdity."
Following the E.U., NATO and the U.N., also Australia has now condemned "Fitna." "We believe in the right to freedom of expression but we don’t believe in abusing that right to incite racial hatred," Foreign Minister Stephen Smith is reported as saying. All the time we see this willful EQUIVOCATION of religion and race! The imprecision in definitions and ideas are the curse of postmodernism!
It is also Islam itself that frames this debate, tending to collating religion with race. Race suggests a condition one is born into, a given fact, not a matter of choice. Whereas seculars, liberalised Hindus, Jews and Christians have indeed options, Muslims are either converts or are born into the faith. In the latter case, apostacy constitutes a certain death sentence, leading to the notion that one has as little choice over one's race as over one's religion. Be that Islamic problem as may, the postmodern shifting of these definitions warrants careful watching.
An article by Robert Spencer on Pajamas makes clear that Wilders' fifteen minutes of yawn provoking 'incitement' wasn't made casually either. Spencer also refutes the 'lumping' of Islam with violence:
"Islam will soon conquer the West and rule the entire world. No non-Muslims are shown saying this. And that points up the odd myopia of virtually all of the objections to Fitna. It was not Geert Wilders, but the many Muslims he shows in his film, who link Islam with violence. And that link has already been made innumerable times around the world - by Islamic jihad warriors, not by non-Muslim “Islamophobes.”
Apparently it is no one's consideration that the faked hysteria serves an ulterior motive: bullying the world into submitting to Islamic values and tenets, even if alien to the dominant culture. Appeasers galore! We know from Churchill's memoirs that Hitler's pre-war rhetoric was heavily laden with the word 'peace'.
... Pax Germanium or Pax Islamium, whatever ...
Update:
EURSOC: "Fitna For Purpose?"
"There is one religio-political agenda which has no compatibility with British democracy; indeed, it is in the process of destroying it. It may be observed that one may attack Christianity and offend Christians by blaspheming the name of Christ with impunity; there is no sensitivity to the level of this offence, and therefore no censorship. But any such attack on Islam and its prophet not only meets with the full force of the law (...) >>>

"Fitna" II (Internecine Strife)
After LiveLeak caved in to the pocket potentates defending the indefensible excesses of the Religion of Peace, here's effort number II - hat tip Atlas Shrugs.
She's so right: "If we all don't stand up to Islam together, we all go down. This is the point of the film, is it not?" Amen to that ... If that doesn't work, here's a link to VodPod.
Just picked up a few edifying words from Greek poet Rigas Feraios on the blog of My Greek Odyssey. That they may serve the purpose of robbing those living under the spell that 'for ages, Muslims, Christians and Jews lived happily together'; from a people, having lived in the dhimmitude of the Turkocracy for over four centuries, uplifting words for the deluded indeed.
Until when, brave warriors, shall we live in bondage,
lonely like lions, on the ridges of mountains?
Living in caves, viewing wild tree branches,
abandoning the world, due to bitter slavery?
Losing brothers, country and parents,
our friends, our children, and all of our kin?
Better an hour of free life,
than forty years of slavery and jail.
- Update: Elsevier Magazine is reporting that some 30 Jordanian media outlets have initiated a campaign for the boycott of Dutch goods. They have also called upon Arab leaders to review diplomatic ties with the country. A number of Muslim countries happen to be gathered this weekend in Damascus for a summit on more serious business. Malaysia is also considering a boycott. In the meantime the treasonous submission to bullying, as displayed by the Dutch national exporters is nauseating: they are considering suing Wilders for damages.
