The Jaw Dropping Hypocrisy of the Left

Update Jan. 12, 2011

by Michael Ramirez
Sign the petition "Shame on the Media for Accusing the TeaParty for Being Responsible for AZ Massacre" and make it viral!

New meme developing! Palin has placed a video reaction on her Facebook page, referring to this outrage as 'blood libel', a term traditionally reserved for Jews being falsely accused by Christians.

Leftist Alan Dershowitz is defending Palin's use of the term.

It took about a split second for some Leftist cook to hint at Tea Partier involvement in the shooting of Jewish Blue Dog Congresswoman Rep. Danielle Giffords (D-AZ).

This was almost at once picked up by the international spinner tweet chorus (picture). Apparently the smear originated with Giffords' elderly father (NYPost).

This was answered by Pamela Geller on Atlas Shrugs, who took the trouble of going through Loughner's YouTube account. It seems Hitler and Karl Marx are among his favorite authors, but then again, it seems that Orwell's Animal Farm, Brave New World, and Plato's Republic also touch the Loughner book shelves.

Geller has more on the Leftist framing machine that is spinning like a top on steroids, and which has by now has just about everyone involved, from media pundits to politicians and hacks.

- The Left and psychological projection:
Eugene's Sarah Palin reception committee -
And while according to the Left, the Right should not jump to conclusions linking Giffords' Jewishness to Loughner's Mein Kampf, they insist TeaPartier involvement and Sarah Palin's responsibility are a forgone conclusion.

As if eight very long years of Bush Derangement Syndrome never existed, the Left is agreeing that political hate speech is now completely out of control. They should know.

But in all honesty and objectivity, Loughner seems to be just another politically confused paranoid. Yep, concurs Richard Fernandez.

While this is going on and World War III just about seems to have broken out, award winning Keynesian economist, Paul Krugman thinks Sarah Palin's graphics are just a wee bit over the top, targets and all.

But as Verum Serum is pointing out, the Obama's enemies' lists and talk on the Daily Kos of 'behind enemy lines' are all a good day's work for the Left (hat tip: DutchReaganite).

Roger Kimball on Pajamas has more on the hate mongering of 'hack columnist Krugman': "everything he wrote is a lie, including “and” and “the” (...) Isn’t it time that the management of the New York Times “took a stand” against such malevolent imbecility? I mean, the man “searches in vain” for what is right in front of his face — but if it conflicts with his left-wing narrative, he doesn’t see it. My God, the man can’t even use Google!"

In the mind of the Left this is all perfectly explicable. But you need an subjectivist's mind to get your head around that one. We are to understand that the difference is, the Daily Kos (and presumably also the massive New York Times) is 'marginal', while the clout of the Tea Party is carried by 'large swathes of the establishment'.

At a loss? You see, it works like this. The Left is all about the redistribution of power. They do so by lumbering the top dog (the US, Israel, the power structure, the military industrial complex, the Tea Party, what have you) with a number of handicaps. They are allowed only a fraction of what the under dog is permitted to do (terrorism, (r)aid flotillas, martial graphics, hate speech, lumping, racism, the Daily Kos, the NYT, etc.).

This logic leaves the Left in a permanent state of bigotry. This is exacerbated by group thought that is rife among the Left! A a matter of course they judge each inequal 'group' by different standards. Hypocrisy is the postmodern Left's middle name!

Update Jan. 10, 2011

- Pajamas Media entire coverage of the subject: "Shooting in Tucson"
- The Moderate Voice: "Politicizing Murder, An Arizona Story"

Krugman is taking exception to Palin martial charts! The gall! Michelle Malkin has compiled some products of the Leftist hatred machine. So who's responsible for current climate?

I. PALIN HATE
II. BUSH HATE
III. MISC. TEA PARTY/GOP/ANTI-TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE HATE
IV. ANTI-CONSERVATIVE FEMALE HATE
V. LEFT-WING MOB HATE — campus, anti-war radicals, ACORN, eco-extremists, & unions
VI. OPEN-BORDERS HATE
VII. ANTI-MILITARY HATE
VIII. HATE: CRIMES — the ever-growing Unhinged Mugshot Collection

Rumor has it the shooter of Giffords, Loughner voted for Obama. Seeking confirmation.
Update: no, that would be Independent. He didn't vote in 2010.

Days before the attack on Gifford the Leftist blog, Daily Kos has been ginning up feelings against Blue Dog Dem Giffords for voting against komisar Pelosi! La Geller brings home the bacon by posting a screen shot, taken before sanitation efforts took it down.

Update Jan. 11, 2011

David Limbaugh stresses the Democrats' conscious strategery behind the spin.

The Economist: "Krugman's toxic rhetoric"

HOW did a deadly shooting spree by a disturbed young man with the typically inscrutable politics of political killers turn into a crazy referendum on the state of American political discourse? Mere minutes after the identity of the alleged Tucson gunman hit the wires, partisans began a reprehensible scramble to out Jared Loughner as ideological kin to their political opponents. Actually, well before that time, some left-leaning opinionators began suggesting that Sarah Palin's now-infamous crosshairs map probably had something to do with the shootings.

At the very least, intemperately fiery right-wing rhetoric probably had something to do with creating a cultural "climate" unusually encouraging to would-be assassins. Before anybody really knew anything, some people seemed to have become convinced that if not for the heavy weather of partisan antagonism summoned by intemperate tea-party types, Gabrielle Giffords would not have got a bullet through the brain. (...) Anyway, let Ross Douthat's intelligently measured column be an example to Mr Krugman of the responsible, reasonable, non-toxic analysis he demands, but utterly failed to deliver. (...) >>>

Astroturfing Infiltrators Caught Red Handed

Gotcha! It has taken some time and effort to raise awareness of the danger of infiltration by fake 'grassrooters' (so-called astroturfers), who infiltrate the enemy camp to engage in a bout of flooding, swarming, the dissemination of disinformation, the dropping of compromising material and using psyops meant to demoralize the opposition (Hillary's Eeyores).

Ever since very early on in the US Presidential campaign I was accosted at the staunchly conservative forum Townhall for writing a comment that was somewhat critical of then Presidential hopeful Barack Obama, I have been suspecting this to be going on for some time.

It's one of those typical Postmodernist approaches to politics as all out war under the banner of "our end is so ethical that it justifies the use of immoral means".

With hindsight it makes the post "Confessions of an Astroturfing Troll" look entirely credible and genuine (at the time the story broke it still had a sense of the paranoia, or of a clever double bluff).

It is well known that if the lie is big enough it is easily accepted by the masses. But 90 separate, uncoordinated incidences is a stretch even by the standards of those who have us believe, there's no such thing as a left wing press. They have been manipulating reality for so long and to such an appalling extent, that they can no longer distinguish their own manufactured truths from the real one.

Vigilance is from hereon the word in all corners of the conservasphere. Here's the full press release issued by Team Sarah activist, Susan B. Anthony List.

Liberal Activists Plot to Defame and Destroy Leading Online Community for Conservative Activists, TeamSarah.org

Teams Sarah Uncovers Evidence of Dirty Tricks, Criticizes Huffington Post Story that Relied Upon False Information

Washington, D.C. – Today leaders of the Susan B. Anthony List responded to the recent discovery of a plot by liberal internet activists to attack www.teamsarah.org, a community dedicated to advancing the values that Sarah Palin represents in the political process:

“Team Sarah recently uncovered a plot by liberal activists to frame our community for harboring hate speech and bigotry,” said Emily Buchanan, Executive Director of the Susan B. Anthony List and Team Sarah Site Administrator. “Liberal extremists at www.somethingawful.com concocted a plot to join Team Sarah under false pretenses and intentionally provoke our members by posting incendiary and bigoted remarks that violated our terms of use.”

Susan B. Anthony List President and Team Sarah Co-Founder Marjorie Dannenfelser offered the following statement:

“Two weeks ago, the Huffington Post published a story criticizing Team Sarah for the supposed racist behavior of its membership – yet had they exercised even the most basic of fact-checking, we could have informed them of the recent escalation in bigoted postings from liberal impostors, not from our bona fide membership.”

“Clearly Governor Sarah Palin’s influence has irked the Left. Here we are months after the election, and liberal extremists are still doing all they can to tear her down. Fortunately the truth will prevail. Team Sarah will continue to grow and its membership will continue to advance the values represented by the trailblazing governor.”

The coordinated attack by liberal bloggers was discovered on Friday, January 2, 2009. The Weekly Standard covered the incident on January 7, 2009. Over ninety impostors were banned from www.teamsarah.org last weekend after bona fide Team Sarah members reported violations to community moderators. Interlopers continue to be banned daily.

One of the attackers explained their goal: "What I hope is that the fake posters eventually number the actual posters so it would be impossible to tell who is real and who is fake."

After a cease and desist letter was sent by Team Sarah to the site administrator of www.somethingawful.com on Friday January 2, 2009, the offending forum was removed from the website, but new forums have since been posted. Attacks have continued, most recently including today’s planned 2:00A.M. mass posting of pornography photos in Team Sarah forums.

Team Sarah is a coalition of women dedicated to advancing the values that Sarah Palin represents in the political process. Its political networking website, www.teamsarah.org, has grown to over 60,000 activists in the last four months. Co-Founders of Team Sarah include Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of the Susan B. Anthony List, and Jane Abraham, the organization’s General Chairman.

Where About on the Dems Depravity Scale Does This Figure?

Cross posted from The News Junkie: "The Most Offensive Palin Hit Yet" - Hat Tip: The Midnight Sun

"(...) The photo was posted by someone going by the name ‘Smooshie’ on Reddit and the comments above aren’t among the worst on the topic. Who is this Smooshie character? No telling…

One thing’s for sure, this photo will make its way around the Internet and into inboxes all around the globe over the next few days. Is anything off-limits anymore?"

... apparently not. The last few days have been filled with fake outcries over perceived racism and "code for racism"- all cover in case riots break out if the Dems lose the elections.

When the next bout of tactical hysterics strikes, could someone cplease hurl the above over the wall that separates the trolls from humanity?

Headlines for the 2nd Presidential Debate (update)

This freakin' thing that is making the rounds since yesterday and is constantly being pulled, is still in working order at the time of publication. If it stops, Newsbusters have a fairly accurate description: these are the forces at work here - take a peek into the crystal ball ...

... the following headlines caught the eye of our editor:

The Boston Globe has statistics on the debates so far.

... STOP PRESS ... this is really getting creepy:

NYT: "Kenya Detains U.S. Author Critical of Obama"

NAIROBI, Kenya — The American author of a best-selling book highly critical of Senator Barack Obama was detained by Kenyan immigration agents on Tuesday as he prepared to give a press conference in Nairobi. Jerome R. Corsi, the conservative gadfly who wrote “The Obama Nation,” in which he attacks the Democratic presidential candidate, was being held Tuesday because he was trying to work in Kenya without a valid work permit, according to local media reports. The reports said that Mr. Corsi would likely be deported. Elias Njeru, a spokesman for Kenya’s immigration department, said, “His immigration forms were not in order.” (...) >>>

Twitter is one huge echo chamber, all true believer o'bots repeating the talking points: "Brack aint no terrist" - "play guilt by association big time" - "McCain erratic" - "Palin and McCain igniting Hate" - "Palin is a total creep and total creeps love her" - it's pathetic ... is the O'church entirely made up of unhinged twelve year olds?

WSJ: "About That Middle-Class Tax Cut . . . - Remember the last time a charismatic Democrat made such a promise?"

"It's like déjà vu all over again." (...) Back when Mr. Clinton was campaigning for president in 1992, he made a pretty direct pitch: Raise taxes on people making more than $200,000, and use those revenues to fund tax relief for the "forgotten middle class."(...) He followed with a pledge: "Now, I'll tell you this," he said. "I will not raise taxes on the middle class to pay for these programs. If the money does not come in there to pay for these programs, we will cut other government spending, or we will slow down the phase-in of the programs." Mr. Clinton, of course, won that election. And as the inauguration approached, he began backtracking (...) he claimed that it was the media that had played up a middle-class tax cut (...) On page one of the New York Times, the paper described the fate of the middle-class tax cut this way: "Families earning as little as $20,000 a year -- members of the 'forgotten middle class' whose taxes he promised during his campaign to cut -- will also be asked to send more dollars to Washington under the President's plan." In some ways, we are today reliving the campaign of 1992. (...) Give Sen. Obama his due. His patter is direct and easy to understand. (...) Congress is even less popular than the president (...) the need for a Republican check on a Democratic Washington is a potent argument. That was one of the lessons from the Clinton years. (...) >>>

... if they want they nail you any which way - as a journalist, she should now ... it accounts for the miraculous metamorphosis from a stuttering dimwit to a sparkling debater who takes on "The Mouth" ...

WSJ: "Palin on Couric: ‘The Sarah Palin in Those Interviews Is Annoyed’"

Vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin blamed her failure to come up with a single newspaper that she reads or a Supreme Court decision that she disagrees with besides Roe v. Wade on — you betcha — the media. Her interview with CBS’s Katie Couric, where she stumbled on those questions, was widely mocked, though her performance in Thursday’s vice-presidential debate was generally well received. In the wake of the debate, she granted an interview to Fox News where she tried to explain what happened in the interview with Couric. “Honestly, the Sarah Palin in those interviews is annoyed,” the Alaska governor said. “No matter what you say, you will get clobbered on the answer. (...) she said she reads the New York Times and the Economist. (...) >>>

... googling for an article on a women's group that yesterday endorsed Palin (which we didn't get) instead what we got was this orgy of hatred ... (and that is the MSM!), which reminds us of a truly psychiatric case on a woman, who not only projected her own failings 101 on Palin, but also blamed the Republican Party for it ... for having Palin flung in her face for the way they did ... truly mind-boggling and fairly common ...

... Fred J. Eckert has precious advise for John McCain ...

PJM: "McCain Must Wake Up and Quit Pussyfooting Around"

McCain needs to come out of his slumber (...) first vehemently attacks Obama and the Democrats over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and compellingly demonstrates the extent of their complicity in the colossal failure as well as the depth of their corruption. (...)

The guy who keeps boasting that he will name the names behind comparatively small time pork barrel if he becomes president had better name the names behind the massive Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac disasters (...) call a news conference (...) demand that Chris Dodd immediately resign (...) that Barney Frank immediately resign (...) that an investigation be launched into the propriety of permitting Barney Frank to oversee Fannie May while his “significant other” serves as a top Fanny May executive (...) that Obama either join with him in calling for a punishment of such an outrageously poor performance or else explain why he won’t. (...) that Obama and Dodd and Frank and all others who raked in money from Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac return those funds and that they make the checks out to the U.S. Treasury. Ask Obama why he selected to be one of his advisers the CEO who ran Fanny Mae into the ground while pocketing some $90 million in six years (...) ask what he was thinking (...)

Put into TV ads video clips of those four-years-ago Congressional hearings about the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight report regarding illegal bookkeeping practices at Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac and warning of looming disaster. It is easy to prove that Republicans took the warning seriously and that every Democrat involved opposed action, arguing “we do not have a crisis” (...) educate the country to the fact that when it all finally did hit the fan, the Democrats tried to pull yet another fast one on the American people by attempting to slip into the $700 million financial rescue plan a provision that would have take 20% of the money for debt retirement and instead earmark it into the coffers of a radical left-wing operation with which Obama has deep roots.

McCain needs to talk — loudly and until the sound of his voice breaks through the media’s barrier protecting Obama — about how Obama’s allies attempted to require taxpayers to pay a kick back formula fee of potentially billions of dollars to this bunch of left-wing radicals who have a long track record of convictions for voter fraud, embezzlement, and misuse of taxpayers’ money — the network of community organizers who go by the name ACORN (...) alert voters to the fact that Obama worked for ACORN (....) was a trainer (...) performed services for them as a lawyer; that he and his unrepentant terrorist friend Bill Ayers worked closely together funneling grants to them; that Obama’s campaign has spent nearly a million dollars to retain their services.

Ask Obama how such sleazy shenanigans had anything to do with restoring confidence (...) ask Obama — what did you know and when did you know it? Demand that he explain (...) ask until he answers. Make Obama squirm. If John McCain comes to his own rescue (...) he will be taking a giant step toward the White House. (...) If he doesn’t, he will be letting down the country — and that is the last thing that John McCain would ever intentionally do. >>>

... Thomas Sowell ... has this to say ...

Townhall: "The Real Obama"

Critics of Senator Barack Obama make a strategic mistake when they talk about his "past associations." (...) Associations are very different from alliances. Allies are not just people who happen to be where you are or who happen to be doing the same things you do. You choose allies deliberately for a reason. The kind of allies you choose says something about you. Jeremiah Wright, Father Michael Pfleger, William Ayers and Antoin Rezko are not just people who happened to be at the same place at the same time as Barack Obama. They are people with whom he chose to ally himself for years (...) an alliance is not just an "association" from being at the same place at the same time. Obama could have allied himself with all sorts of other people. But, time and again, he allied himself with people who openly expressed their hatred of America.(...) Fortunately, there is a documented, factual account of what Barack Obama has actually been doing over the years, as distinguished from what he has been saying during this election campaign, in a new best-selling book. That book is titled "The Case Against Barack Obama" by David Freddoso. (...)

The story of Obama's political career is not a pretty story. He won his first political victory by being the only candidate on the ballot-- after hiring someone skilled at disqualifying the signers of opposing candidates' petitions (...) Obama came out in favor of the Daley machine and against reform candidates. (...) "People don't come to Obama for what he's done, they come because of what they hope he can be." David Freddoso's book should be read by those people who want to know what the facts are. But neither this book nor anything else is likely to change the minds of Obama's true believers, who have made up their minds and don't want to be confused by the facts. (...) >>>

Is it Silly Season?

Have they gone insane?!

The economy is in melt-down, an unprecedented, institutionalized heist may be under way in Congress, and we face a paradigm changing Presidential election in which a postmodernist liberation revolutionary may well win the mandate to Re-arrange the Universe on the cranky world's behalf for the coming four years.

And now it looks like the press is being run by unhinged twelve year olds, solidly in the tank for a cabal of which Messrs Castro, Chavez and Ahmadinejad are the core, card carrying members!

What follows is a collection of the flagrantly dangerous, the mere ridiculous, the quite insane, and the sincerely pathological.

- The Weekly Standard: "Liberal Scandal-Mongering Over Palin Hits Stupidest Level Yet"

The kiddos at HufPo have a post up on the all important subject of Sarah Palin's lipstick: is it real, is it tattooed? Includes a poll (the subjectivist tool for gauging truth) and - at last night's count - 12 pages worth of commentary (at the time of publishing swollen to 20) ... the upshot being: "If we can't trust her to tell the truth about her lip liner, what can we trust her on?

~

Who believes standards couldn't possibly sink any lower, reckons without the resourcefulness of CNN's Gary Tuchman. No treasure or personal trouble is spared in pursuit of truth on behalf of a sensation hungry public ...

- CNN Anderson Cooper 360°: "You CAN see Russia from here!," by Gary Tuchman

"Governor Sarah Palin said you can actually see Russia from an island in Alaska. Our Gary Tuchman went to find this island… Watch his full report tonight on AC360."

Footage includes Tuchman hitching a helicopter ride, and visiting a settlement on the Bering Straits.
~

Moving briefly away from the campaign trail, here's more evidence we've long left the realm of the real world in favor of creation according to Humpty Dumpty:

- Yahoo!News: "US 'casino' mentality blamed for planet's meltdown"
~

Now a reprise of one of The Most Popular and Hilarious ...

"Is Obama a Being of Light? Spiritual wise ones say: This sure ain't no ordinary politician ..."

- SF Gate: "Is Obama an enlightened being?" by Mark Morford, SF Gate Columnist

(...) I've heard from far too many enormously smart, wise, spiritually attuned people who've been intuitively blown away by Obama's presence - not speeches, not policies, but sheer presence (...) Many spiritually advanced people I know (not coweringly religious, mind you, but deeply spiritual (our emphasis)) identify Obama as a Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policies or health care plans or whatnot, but who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet, of relating and connecting and engaging with this bizarre earthly experiment. These kinds of people actually help us evolve. They are philosophers and peacemakers of a very high order, and they speak not just to reason or emotion, but to the soul.

The unusual thing is, true Lightworkers almost never appear on such a brutal, spiritually demeaning stage as national politics. This is why Obama is so rare. (...)

... going on to suggest that Obama is like JFK, who ... "wasn't assassinated for any typical reason you can name" but "because he was just this kind of high-vibration being, a peacemaker, at odds with the war machine, the CIA, the dark side. And it killed him (...) seriously! We know normal windbags, the intellectually flatulated, now we meet the new brand, the spiritual snob.
~

And now for the seriously creepy stuff, far above our pay grade of course. So here's the diagnosis by our favorite mental health professional, psychiatrist Pat Santy:

- Dr Sanity: "Ideological Psychopathy"

(...) an example of attempted soul murder for sake of the ideology (...) the child (not) as an individual--i.e., separate, unique or independent in her own right--but instead sees that child as merely an extension of the will of the ideology; and therefore as fodder to further the ideology (...) the psychopathy (...) thinks to disguise itself under a layer of [perverse] 'cuteness' (...) the totalitarian/collectivist mindset (...) >>>

For those interested, the doc has a treasure trove of political pathology diagnoses on her website - a caution, it's not for the fainthearted ...

Update:

It's a bit of an anti-climax relative to the insanity as displayed above, but this one doubtlessly qualifies for silly season in its unadulterated absurdity: a moderator secretly in the can for one of the parties! On second thought, what difference could it possibly make? A moderator demonstrably secretly in the can, or one merely covertly so ... truth is irrelevant ...

- Glenn Beck: "VP debate bias?"

Yes, it's pretty clear these days that the media has a liberal bias. But they've gone (even for them) too far this time. The moderator of the Vice Presidential debate tomorrow night, PBS' Gwen Ifill has come under scrutiny after it was discovered that she has a pro-Obama book due out (on inauguration day) called the The Breakthrough. Gee, what possible motive could Ifill have in influencing the outcome of the debate? >>>

The Endless Queue of Useful Idiots: the Latest Crop

September 25 Rally to protest U.S. religious leaders “honoring” AHMADINEJAD at NYC Hyatt Hotel

Join us to raise your voice of conscience against religious appeasers of tyrant Ahmadinejad!

On Thursday, Sept 25, at 6pm in New York City at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, The American Friends Service Committee, Mennonite Central Committee, Quaker UN Office, Religions for Peace, and the World Council of Churches-UN Liaison Office will be “honoring” Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at an Iftar (dinner to break the day’s Ramadan fast). Other organizations, political leaders and media have also been invited. Read the Text of the Invitation.

These religious leaders are about to betray their brethren across all religions, parties, and countries by “honoring” the tyrannical regime of Ahmadinejad and the Iranian mullahs of this terrorist state.

At the same time, Women United, the Jewish Action Alliance, Stand With Us, Center for Security Policy, the Catholic League, the The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Alliance of Iranian Women and over 30 organizations of all faiths and political affiliations will hold an interfaith rally to counter this betrayal of principles, to protest Ahmadinejad’s presence at the United Nations, and to oppose Iran’s nuclear weapons program and outrageous threats against the USA and America’s ally, Israel. See the full list of participating organizations HERE , updated daily.

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has been invited to speak along with many other civic and religious leaders and politicians, both Democrats and Republicans.

Please join us at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, East 42nd St, near Lexington Ave and Grand Central Station in Manhattan, at 5:30pm. PLAN EXTRA TRAVEL TIME because the large number of attendees will affect traffic near the event.

Send a message to the Mullahs in Iran!

For more information, or to bring your organization on board, call 212-726-1124

Updates throughout available on the site of Stop Ahmadinjad (...) >>>

The People's Cube have designed the two flyers: "A few days ago we were contacted to make a flyer for the next week's two rallies protesting Ahmadinejad's visit to New York and his appeasers in the West. Since then the Sept. 22 rally at the UN has grown famous thanks to the organizers' decision to disinvite Sarah Palin under pressure from the Democrat leadership and its proxies among the leftist Jewish groups, whom Pamela Geller called Jewicidals. So we made two different flyers". (...) >>>

Said Pamela Geller at Atlas Shrugs is reporting on today's sad, sad gathering in New York in "2,000 strong Weak". Here's another by Michael Weiss, "Standing Up to Ahmadinejad": Brave dissident Iranians ended up the stars of Monday's rally instead of U.S. politicians. (Also, Phyllis Chesler on Why the Rally Didn't Roar and Dear Mahmoud by Michael Ledeen).

The UN has once again been exposed as the amoral institution that it is. It seems to be impossible to explain to good-meaning Westerners the immorality of bargaining with evil. The height of relativist ethics is unconditional, open-ended diplomacy at any price. Much like sending Neville Chamberlain to Munich to parley with Hitler about the final solution: can we close the deal at fifty percent?

Update: NY Sun has published the text of the speech Sarah Palin would have delivered at yesterday's anti Ahmadinejad rally had she not been desinvited on the insistence of one of George Soros' tentacles, J Street: "Palin on Ahmadinejad: 'He Must Be Stopped'".

"The Moving Finger" or Sleuthing the Smear Campaign

Who thought we'd seen it all during the last eight years of Bush Derangement Syndrome, that standards couldn't possibly be taken any lower, is in for a treat with Passive Aggressive Palin Hysterics.

But wait, there may be some good news. More than once in the last few days it has been put into question if the Obama default direction, instead of proudly pointing grassroots-up as claimed, isn't actually classic 'Leftist authoritarian' (meaning Marxist) top directing down.

While individual trolls continue to run amok making up slurs and slander as they go along, and others unhinge altogether (they MUST be desperate), whereas the MSM occupy themselves with the more serious aspects of character assassination ("Palin's town charged women for rape exams") there are some indications that the campaign's puppet masters themselves have also been pulling a few imaginative strings of their own, engaging in a bout of astroturfing (viz. simulating false viral grassroots activity - there's no unintended tautology here ;).

- Caption: Excerpt from Agatha Christie's "The Moving Finger" -

Rusty Shackleford at The Jawa Report believes a main source of some of the more outrageous slurs (Breaking News!: "Palin supports actual witch hunts!") can be traced back to the very top.

Enjoy the sleuths of My Pet Jawa in
"Hope, Change, & Lies: Orchestrated "Grassroots" Smear Campaigns & the People that Run Them".
Extensive research was conducted by the Jawa Report to determine the source of smears directed toward Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Those smears included false allegations that she belonged to a secessionist political party and that she has radical anti-American views.

Our research suggests that a subdivision of one of the largest public relations firms in the world most likely started and promulgated rumors about Sarah Palin that were known to be false. These rumors were spread in a surreptitious manner to avoid exposure. (...)

Hard Choices (No Way)

The contrast couldn't be more pronounced. America is blessed with a clear choice ... and it's a no-brainer!

They may not quite know what they're getting themselves into, but the Palins are definitely the antidote to degenerate counter-culturati, cynical autocrats, demented sex-obsessed Narcissists, psychotic denialists, bomb-hurling poison dwarfs ... no wonder the trolls squirm and squeal like vampires before garlic.

Squeaky clean inside and out, healthy body and soul, the cat's whiskers; it's what the-world-gone-mad is begging for: strangers to decadence, inverted morality, false equivalence ... ah yes ... a choice for the healthy ticket - hot damn!

Here's the Todd Palin interview in four parts.

A Sense of Cruelty

It's official! Bush Derangement Syndrome has a new offshoot.

No, it isn't Morbid Obama Intoxication (or MOI, French for 'Little Me'), the O personality cult that has large segments of 'reality based' humanity in its grip.

The recurring theme of the current campaign appears to be 'the womb.' To that collection can now be added hysteria (click to explain), to wit Passive Aggressive Palin Hysteria, of which the acronym reads PAPH.

As the press continues to derail in the objective information department, another section - caricaturists - implode into a passive agressive displacement hole.

This vicious piece of pamphleteering is what passes for humor in the British Leftist rag The Guardian, home to unreformed Stalinists and Mao supporters.

- Caption: Guardian humor - Hat tip: EurSoc -

What is hard to fathom is the lack of introspection sufferers display. Weren't they gripped by delusion, the thought might have occurred, "Why am I - for the past eight years or so - consumed with hatred for persons I do not even know personally? Is this normal, am I healthy?" But, no.

Dr Sanity in one of her brilliant posts, titled "Not all humor is created equal" psycho-analyzes this form of humorless humor, which she says is actually symptomatic of psychopathology.

"There are important differences between mature humor and displacement or it's cousin, passive aggression. The latter are also psychological defense mechanisms, but less mature ones (neurotic), that are not quite as effective in bringing 'pleasure to others.'"

She recalls the behavior of comedian Stephen Colbert when he mocked President Bush during the 2006 White House Correspondents' Dinner. She quotes at length comedian and commentator Richard Cohen who had this to say about Colbert's performance:

"(...) Colbert was not just a failure as a comedian but rude. Rude is not the same as brash. It is not the same as brassy. It is not the same as gutsy or thinking outside the box. Rudeness means taking advantage of the other person's sense of decorum or tradition or civility that keeps that other person from striking back or, worse, rising in a huff and leaving. The other night, that person was George W. Bush."

The doctor continues:

"Humor is an extraordinarily mature and healthy psychological defense. It is the overt expression of ideas and feelings (especially those that are unpleasant to focus on or too terrible to talk about) in a creative manner that gives pleasure to others. (...) Read the entire piece (Cohen's), which accurately deliniates the significant differences between humor and displacement. True humor offers a catharsis for more than just the person using it; and while displacement may be funny to some, it is the childish/adolescent version of humor that is more like disguised cruelty. (...)

It was very revealing precisely because it revealed something about Colbert and any of those who found it hilarious--it revealed immaturity and intolerance. To be precise, it was just another attempt at displacement, the underlying psychological motivation of Bush Derangement Syndrome. The purpose of this kind of "humor" is to hurt. It makes very few feel pleasure except at the pain of someone else. Mostly, this kind of humor is found in children and adolescents. The "ha-ha!" shout of the character Nelson, who makes fun of everyone's pain; while blissfully unaware of his own family's psychopathology in The Simpsons is an example; or one of the three stooges beating up on another. (...)

While displacement may be a bit psychologically healthier than actually physically hitting the President over the head with a baseball bat, it is hard to see how those on the "caring and compassionate" left--so sensitized to others people's feelings-- are not exactly aware of how insensitive and loutish it was to attack someone who cannot respond. They rationalize their own behavior by making Bush a monster. This is only projection (an even more primitive psychological defense), however. (...)

Such rudeness in the name of humor is actually painful to witness (i.e., not funny) because when someone resorts to it, they are unintentionally revealing their own deepest--and darkest--soul. (...) the more immature psychological defenses--such as displacement or passive aggression-- can produce a warped type of humor that is decidedly inferior and far less effective at discharging aggression and anger in socially acceptable ways that give pleasure to everyone. Not all humor is created equal when it comes to being healthy and psychologically mature. >>>

In philosophical terms the ratio goes: "Anyone who threatens our high sense of ethics - our Common Will - is only worthy of being sacrificed to it."

Operation Damage Control

Lesson one:

"A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds."
--Emerson

... not to be confused with flip-flops and U-turns ...

Can we expect a retraction and an apology? (this is a rhetorical question)

Viewing problems? Watch "Ex Palin aide on bridge claims" - "Yes, bottomline, she killed it!"

Now, can we talk about the Woods Fund and the Chicago Annenberg Challenge?

Next question: who's pulling the strings of this elegant, soft-spoken, dropping, post-racial, sexist puppet? We don't know (yet) but here are some of the auxiliaries.

We already got to know some of the campaign's witch doctors, for example Messrs Richard Thaler and Cass Sunstein, academics of the University of Chicago, inventors of The Nudge, or 'how to soft-manipulate the masses into falling in line with our ideology, even against their will.'

Commentator "redherkey" on Jennifer Rubin's PJM piece "Severe Palin Panic Strikes Democrats" suggests another has something to do with it: the neo Marxist Rockridge institute for the reframing of the progressive mind, (who ever dared to say the Left have no depth?!) - quote:

The Obama/Biden campaign is one being carefully guided by George Lakoff’s (of the Rockridge Institute) concept of message framing (...) Daily message and meme constructs are carefully reviewed, selecting specifically chosen short phrases that are to be repeated by the candidate, spokespersons and by the mainstream media surrogates via materials distributed for their handling. As Lakoff has driven home with consulting to the Obama campaign, *EVERY WORD EVOKES A FRAME*. Words are hypertext links to emotions, images, memories, experiences, imagery, etc. At this level, you don’t make mistakes of the “lipstick on a pig” and “smelly fish” that are accidental misstatements. (...)."

Yes, very Messianic all. There's more. The Left, tradition since Rousseau, love to study ways how to underhandedly make the masses conform to their collectivist hell-hole rules. If not voluntary, then through changing perceptions through mind-games. Here's another incissive implement from the psychology toolbox of the anti-humanism:

Elizabeth Scalia in "Psychologists Want to Purge Your Brain of Un-Green Thoughts" on PJM has dug out an article on USA Today that provides a treasure trove in underhanded tricks and manipulations to toe the party line and worship at the green altar of the Earth goddess.

"Armed with new research into what makes some people environmentally conscious and others less so, the 148,000-member American Psychological Association is stepping up efforts to foster a broader sense of eco-sensitivity that the group believes will translate into more public action to protect the planet. "We know how to change behavior and attitudes. That is what we do," says Yale University psychologist Alan Kazdin, association president. "We know what messages will work and what will not.

Does that sound ominous, or what?

During a four-day meeting that begins today in Boston (ed. 14th Aug.), an expected 16,000 attendees will hear presentations, including studies that explore how people experience the environment, their attitudes about climate change and what social barriers prevent conservation of resources."

If you feel your thought processes interfered with on a daily basis like I do, you now know why. Get this:

"News stories that provided a balanced view of climate change reduced people's beliefs that humans are at fault and also reduced the number of people who thought climate change would be bad, according to research by Stanford social psychologist Jon Krosnick."

This explains the barrage of biased indoctrination we are bombarded with. Who doubted that global warming and other environmental issues are about anything other than control, he's your answer. The article continues:

"His presentation will detail a decade of American attitudes about climate change. His new experiment, conducted in May, illustrates what he says is a public misperception about global warming. He says there is scientific consensus among experts that climate change is occurring, but the nationwide online poll of 2,600 adults asked whether they believe scientists agree or disagree about it."

Note well!

"By editing CNN and PBS news stories so that some saw a skeptic included in the report, others saw a story in which the skeptic was edited out and another group saw no video, Krosnick found that adding 45 seconds of a skeptic to one news story caused 11% of Americans to shift their opinions about the scientific consensus. Rather than 58% believing a perceived scientific agreement, inclusion of the skeptic caused the perceived amount of agreement to drop to 47%."

Truth is IRRELEVANT... only the ideology and the hive matter ...

"American Psychological Association leaders say they want to launch a national initiative specifically targeting behavior changes, including developing media messages that will help people reduce their carbon footprint (...) >>>

Scalia concludes:

"It would seem that Al Gore was correct then, to eschew any debate on the topic of global warming, and correct again when he ordered the press to stop presenting balance and dissent in their global warming coverage (...) All of this manipulation and social engineering is necessary, you understand, because we’re facing a “crisis.” The environmental “crisis” is the mother lode of guilt-tripping; if it is successful — if people can be made to accept the unprovable theory that humankind, not nature, is responsible for “climate change” — then the tentacles of the nanny state will be able to reach into every aspect of every life, from how one may heat or cool one’s home to how many children one may bear. It will be a necessary intrusion, meant to save the planet. For the children you should not have." (...) >>>

What the anti-humanists are specifically after is reducing man the preditor to glorified apes whose value is not above that of a gorilla (see the Great Apes Project). This may be a good time to cite one of the few sane Europeans left standing: Czech President Václav Klaus on Monday. during a meeting in Tokyo of an association of Libertarian economists, businessmen and intellectuals, warned against climatism.

"Fear of global climate change has no serious basis - a resolute stance of all rational, freethinking and freedom-loving people. Our response to this ideology should be clear and uncompromising, because we are convinced that we know enough about the delicate and vulnerable human society, and how dangerous all efforts are to direct it from above."

Sarah Palin's “Servant’s Heart”

Yesss, the muck failing to stick, we have now unavoidably arrived at the stage where Palin's religious views are dissected and ridiculed by the self-proclaimed experts on theology who are infesting the liberal blogs and media.

Some - like Free Thought - aren't aware that their own atheism and faith in evolution in themselves have become virulently dogmatic and fundamentalist, yes - fascist to boot. If anything reminds of a schoolyard witch hunt it's "the Christian zealot named as Republican John McCain’s running-mate", her "tendency to run off at the mouth about GOD and JEEE-SUS! at the drop of a blueberry muffin", and "Sarah Palin's (...) puke-inducing church performance". Prove it!

Our contribution to the rumor machine is the news we've got for Messrs Duke and Finkelstein: far from being 'the Jews' worst nightmare', daddy's probably a Jewish apostate turned Catholic. The anti-semitism card is really tasteless and easily the cheapest shot yet: it says it all about the baseness of our time. Yuk ...

So much for freedom of conscience and free thinking (pocket Hitlers ...)!

For those who are taking the matter seriously, here's what we've got on Palin's church relations and religious persuations from our regular, reliable media authority on matters of the faith:

National Catholic Reporter: "What’s behind candidate Palin’s ‘God talk’", by Tom Roberts

Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin claims no denomination when asked what kind of Christian she is, confining her description to “Bible believing.” (...) the scrutiny of Palin that everyone says is inevitable will include a look at her religious biography. And it’s a bit more complex than that simple phrase. (...)

If she is a “post denominationalist” today (see the analysis earlier by NCR senior correspondent John Allen (McCain's VP choice a woman -- and a post-denominationalist) her language at times clearly comes out of her earlier Pentecostal formation. (...) Cecil M. Robeck Jr., a Pentecostal and director of the David du Plessis Center for Christian Spirituality at Fuller Theological Seminary, said the language may not contain as stark an assertion as it appears. (...)

“Pentecostals, he said, “make no attempt to sound ‘humble’ when speaking about the will of God.” (...) He emphasized that discerning God’s will within Pentecostal denominations is not a matter of “hoodoo” or some magically determined direction. Determining the will of God, he said, occurs in a variety of ways, through using Scripture, for instance; or common sense and personal feelings about a situation; or seeking direction in concert with others in the church or family.

Questions such as “Where can I make a difference or where can I do the greatest good?” are also means for discovering the will of God, he said. "Often times, within our circles,” he added, “people will say that they think something is God's will if they have a strong inner sense that something is right.” (Tom Roberts is NCR editor at large. His e-mail address is troberts@ncronline.org.)

Read it all for 'discerning Gods will as public policy' >>>

With Palin we say, "pray (...) that there is a plan, and that plan is God's plan." That would be far more attractive than the "world historical events" cabal who pretend their machinations are Acts of God, while in actual fact they are thought up and steered by their own One World Totalitarian Collectivist agenda.

If it weren't for the clarity of Palin's ideas in public policy, much more worrying would be the association of denominational Christianity with the Postmodernist Emergent Church! Remember, the Christians who manage to combine the message of Christ with agnosticism in relation to truth? John Allen has the details.

Notes around the RNC

"(...) The media (...) have joined in flogging the meme that the convention is now ruined and John McCain is in trouble (...)" The European MSM have it, that not only is the convention a wash-out, the campaign is lost, but also that John McCain's unvetted pick of Palin speaks volumes of his judgment capabilities: he would consider jilting her, if he could ...

- "I have to agree with Glenn Reynolds when he suggests that: "How they could have kept the Palin pregnancy out of the press: Leaked it, that John Edwards was the father." -
Convention site

WSJ: "The Beltway Boys"

(...) the high priests and priestesses of the media have marked her as an apostate. The Beltway class is in full-throated rebellion against a nondomesticated conservative who might pose a threat to their coronation of Barack Obama and the return of Camelot-on-the-Potomac. Here is a sampler of media comment on Governor Palin this week (...)

Take a close look at Governor Palin's record on ethics and energy in Alaska, and it becomes clear what this Beltway outburst is actually about. The irony is that while Senator Obama is running on change, his acceptance speech made explicit that he's promising only more power and money for Washington. Sarah Palin's history of taking on the career politicians of a corrupt Alaskan GOP machine -- her own party -- shows that she's the more authentic change agent. >>>

Obama, Biden: "Children are off limits" (we leave that to our surrogates ...)

How do you spell h y p o c r i s y ?

Here are "
Top 9 Reasons Obama Hasn’t Pulled Ahead", a recap of the campaign so far.

Palin, the woman the European Left (a tautology) love to hate (Times): "What Mrs Palin represents is mesmerising this side of the Atlantic for its very political incorrectness. So sick are we in Britain, with our centre left-centre right politicians of the centre, not one daring to have a view out of line with the very thin consensus that passes for acceptable opinion here, that we stand stunned by a woman who opposes abortion and shoots moose; who believes in creationism and drilling for oil in the Arctic wildlife refuge; who supports the aerial shooting of wolves and opposes same-sex marriage; who says to hell with the kids and just get back to work; who even campaigned against saving polar bears! Could you be less politically correct than suing the Federal Government to prevent it making polar bears an endangered species because the move would restrict oil drilling? Nothing like Mrs Palin has, could ever, be seen in the British political system. She turns liberals into conservatives and conservatives into feminists. Stand back, Mr Obama, a new character is storming the ratings. How Hillary Clinton, all safe lines and patronising empathy, must be hating it. How fast Michelle Obama must be recalibrating her soft little tales about baking cookies and enjoying The Brady Bunch. Mrs Palin would eat Carol Brady for breakfast, and still have space for some moose stew. Hell, yes. (...) They call it feminism, but the Republicans have done women a disservice. They have selected a female candidate who is a cartoon - the joker in the pack who will end up just a joke. >>>

This is great! Hat Tip Pamela at Atlas ... see the assaults of the new storm troopers in 360!

Minnesota Public Radio: "RNC protest in 360 degrees"

The McCain Campaign has taken the press to task for savagely trashing Sarah Palin. The reaction on CNN: "They do this as a strategy to deflect attention away from her lack of experience and McCain's poor judgment in picking her." Obamaland: "That's right, blame the messenger if you think this is about personalities instead of issues."
