Of Mental Train Wrecks, Subliminal Leaps and Cultural Suicide

Before straight up nihilism struck, another curious phenomenon hit the postmodern psyche: that valuelessness equals objectivity ... if we are able to take our own personal values and opinions out of the equation, we can come to an objective conclusion. You know: the elimination of bias, those darned preconceptions and preconceived ideas for which postmodernists go to pomo hell, provided they have one.

Note that at this stage objectivity itself is still considered a goal worth pursuing; nor is it considered unattainable or even non-existent, as is currently the case. But because practitioners failed to make distinction between the given - the metaphysical - and the fallible - the man-made, the premise already contained the fallacy that all personal convictions are necessarily 'opinion', not fact and are never actually true.

It was preceded by a meme injected into common popular culture, that one is somehow “not allowed to generalize”. No one ever asked why this self-censorship was pressed upon us, let alone anyone wondering who was the source of this sudden imperative. But this is how postmodern thinkers in ivory towers reconstruct society in accordance with their ideologies.

The mechanism of incrementalism was brilliantly illustrated last week by Glenn Beck and his (rubber!) frog put to gradually heating water: insinuating minute, mental seedlings into the cultural blood stream over a long period of time a big revolution make (ask the European federalists). It was to be a very first step only.

It was followed by two further subliminal leaps: that values are always personal and non universal, in turn resting on the notion that objective truth is only known to God, or but a figment of our imagination.

Let's illustrate this with a typical example involving one of pomo's favorite social factions: homosexuals, otherwise known as “the gay community”. The generalization that “all gays are perverts” was vetoed by the imperative. “But as a hetero, how can I separate the perverted gays from non perverted gays?”, morphing into the hip, Sex-and-the-City truism, “who am I to judge?” The grand finale is an act of suicide: “perversion does not exist, all sexual behavior is perfectly natural”.

Were it to remain at that things might not have been that bad. But the postmodern nudgers are waging a war on reality, so the train of thought plunges into a moral black hole with the worst offenders of pomo subversion calling for lobby groups “protecting the rights of pedophiles”.

Applied to morality we can see where this politically correct assault is getting a wee bit pernicious. This is also illustrative of a claim made by biologist Marc Hauer that man has an inbred moral compass - it's explained in strictly evolutionary terms of course. Atheists can lead perfectly moral lives, but it's their warped view of reality that leads them to draw immoral conclusions.

If we take the absolutism as an example that “all criminals belong in jail”, this is followed by “how can we know which criminals belong in jail and who doesn't?” This question is made possible by swapping “a debt to society” followed by absolution, with “curing the unwashed of anti social tendencies”. This 'civilized' insight itself is a precurser to mental asylums for the dissenting. This shading ends in relativism: “who am I to judge?”, to finally crash to earth in anarchy: “the ultimate cause of crime is the law, let's abolish the law”.

Or, projected on to current affairs: is it morally abject for a middle aged bloke to slip a 13 year old girl a mickey and then Greek-rape her against her will? How do we know? - who am I to judge? goes off the cliff in “she's forgiven him, and it's three decades ago, and everyone was doing drugs back then, and his wife was murdered, and he was a Holocaust victim, and her parents are to blame for letting her out at night, and a 13 year old Hollywood Lolita doesn't look 13, and perhaps she even liked it (or asked for it!) ... how dare they judge him! Free Roman Polanski!

It can get worse. It culminates in moral nihilism when Mary Jo Kopechne is made to ponder the question if her premature death was perhaps “worth” the later accomplishments of Ted Kennedy. Man may have an inbred or God given moral compass, but not everyone is able to use it when the occasion arises.

If - inevitably - we start confusing fact with opinion as the premise requires, we can see where this mental and a moral train wreck also becomes a major impediment to defend the values that define us and becomes an instrument for cultural suicide.

All Muslims are terrorists.

Oops! Thou shalt not lump and generalize!

Then how can we separate the good-willing Muslims from the terrorists?

Who are we to judge? This is followed by irrelevant observations how people are “the same” (or even “One”) and that the worst Koranic Suras do not essentially differ from Jewish and Christian texts (as if that makes - even if true - sacred incitement to hatred and violence any better).

All Muslims are peace-loving innocents and anyway, we asked for it!

Obama's Paradigm Shift in Geopolitics (Updated)

Update: Sen. Kyl brings up another important aspect of this case. It brings back to life the Cold War paradigm of the "spheres of influence" through which swathes of the globe were either on the East or on the West's side. No wonder the Poles are upset. What's more, they were informed about the decision about the same time as the news broke. I have a feeling this mistake may cast a very long shadow.

Newt Gingrich also weighing in. This looks worse by the hour. The program was apparently scrapped without any quid pro quo and Obama on Russian insistance "correcting an American mistake". Incidentally, I think this administration will find the Russians quite racist and very insensitive to their notions of political correctness.

Almost simultaneously news is breaking that may well define history.

On the eve of the Soviet Union invading Poland 70 years ago US President Obama has made it formally known he's flinging Europe under the appeasement bus. How sensitive and empathic! After the debacles of the Iran uprising and the Honduras enormity, Obama is now pandering to the next autocracy. It is unmistable. Obama is not the champion of liberty-hungry peoples.

Our valued contributor, Dr Sam Holliday, director of the Armiger Cromwell Center just sent in this:

It is too soon to know all of the implications of today's announcement by the Obama administration scrapping plans for a Ballistic Missile Defense system in Poland and the Czech Republic. But the timing of this announcement is interesting. Today marks the 70th anniversary of the Soviet invasion of Poland on September 17, 1939, sixteen days after the beginning of the German attack. I doubt that Obama and his postmodern experts gave it much thought, but I'm certain that the timing of this announcement was not lost on the Poles. This will be seen as another betrayal of Poland by a great power.
At the same time news is breaking that one of the main reasons the Bush administration proposed the missile defense shield, is one disastrous step closer to apocalyptic reality.

Times Online: "Dismay in Europe as Obama ditches missile defence"

President Obama dismayed America's allies in Europe and angered his political opponents at home today when he formally ditched plans to set up a missile defence shield in Poland and the Czech Republic.

The project had been close to the heart of Mr Obama's predecessor, President Bush, who had argued before leaving office in January that it was needed to defend against long-range ballistic missile attacks from rogue states such as Iran and North Korea. (...) >>>

It's no surpise the German Spiegel Online is able to report:

Sense of Triumph in Moscow

"Euphoria over Obama's Decision To Shelve Missile Shield"

Moscow is triumphant over Obama's decis
ion to cancel his missile shield plan. But it is no foregone conclusion that Russia will harden its line against Iran. And Poland and the Czech Republic will also expect overtures from the United States. (...) >>>

Manure hits the fan on the Iran nuke front as well, as IAEA in a secret report admit Iran has now enough info to plug the holes in its program!

The Yeshiva World News: "Secret Report: IAEA Says Iran Can Make Nuke Bomb"

A breaking news report released by the Associated Press just moments ago, claims that they have seen a “secret report” in which the International Atomic Energy Agency agrees with Washington’s fears that Iran has the capabilities to manufacture a nuclear bomb. The “secret report” also concludes that Iran is currently working on producing a missile which is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.

Additionally, the AP reports that the highly secret IAEA document which the USA claims IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei withheld, says Iran has “sufficient information” and will “overcome problems” on missile technology.

The US, France, and Israel have recently accused the outgoing head of the IAEA, Mohammad ElBaradei, of concealing information regarding Iran’s nuclear program. ElBaradei rejected the allegations, saying they had political motives. >>>

Charming!

Update:

The Washington Examiner: "Obama helps strengthen General Electric-Putin ties", by Timothy P. Carney

Reuters reports an interesting nugget in the wake of President Barack Obama's decision to grant Vladimir Putin his wish and kill the Eastern European missile shield:

Shortly after the pullback on the shield programme was announced, Russia's government said Prime Minister Vladimir Putin would meet several U.S. executives on Friday from firms including General Electric, Morgan Stanley as well as TPG, one of the world's largest private equity firms.

General Electric may be the company with the closest ties to the Obama administration (if not, GE is second only to Goldman Sachs) (...) Reuters paints the broader picture (...) GE CEO Jeff Immelt sits on Obama's Economic Recovery Advisory Board, and GE owns MSNBC, the network famously friendly to Obama. (...) Read it all >>>

Russia, for obvious reasons, but other opponents of the plan as well, want us to forget that we're talking here of a defensive system.  They like to present it as if the missile shield is an offensive weapon.

For his part Czech President Václav Klaus can't say he's surprised. The signals have been coming for some time (indeed).

Der Spiegel's complete coverage of the missile shield contraversy and an interview with former Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski. And then there's this comment:
US President Barack Obama has scrapped his predecessor's plans for a missile defense shield in Eastern Europe. German editorialists hope the move will encourage Russia to back tougher sanctions against Iran. But while some praise the decision as hopeful and brave, others dub it naive and dangerous.
They can't be serious! German editorialists hope the move will encourage Russia to back tougher sanctions against Iran ... completely unhinged ... are there no grown-ups in the place anymore?

Here's a reaction from Poland just in.

Geert Wilders and the Rag-Head Tax Plot

During the debates that mark the beginning of the Dutch Parliamentary year Geert Wilders once again had his opponents enraged to the point of breaking blood vessels and generally getting their multicultural knickers in a twist.

What's he done now?

Well, he's proposed a rag-head tax ... eh what?

That's a tax on head-scarves. Here's an article on the site of Dutch International Radio. You can read Wilders' entire speech for Parliament here.

- Caption: Ottoman revenue stamps (Crete) -

Wilders proves once again to be a clever politician while his opponents appear to be in a permanent state of collective psychosis induced by postmodern outrage (feigned, or otherwise). Wilders on the other hand, has laid his ambush with patience and care.

He's probably preparing more of the same, only to turn the table on the political correctness brigades at the last moment, possibly at the height of the campaign for city council elections early next year.

Special taxes is the sort of measure in the time honored tradition of the Dar-al-Islam*. In the West it is now sadly forgotten (or whiped from our carefully sanitized history text books). Muslim conquerors were wont to give the vanquished three choices: convert, pay or die.

- Caption: scene of a trial on Crete during Ottoman rule (1879) -

Pay, consists of a tax called jizya, another discriminatory injustice, according to this wiki rooted in the prehistory of the Arabian dessert. Sadly, that doesn't explain why the conquering Turkish hordes did the exact same thing. The most bitter aspect of it is that the subjugated - in effect - financed their own defeat and occupation. That this practice still exists in the Dar-al-Islam is described in colorful terms in this article.

The Muslim conquerers were masters in thinking up methods to humiliate and oppress the dhimmis. The Greeks for example were forbidden to ride horses, because that would make them appear more impressive than a Muslim riding a donkey, and that would never do. The dhimmi must be kept in place. This was institutionalised in the Ottoman millet** system.

At present, development aid, subsidies and other NGO and Government sponsored programs benefiting the Dar-al-Islam may be construed as
a form of jizyah; appeasement of terrorism a non-monetary manifestation of jizyah.

Wilders also demanded from the Government to submit to Parliament a cost benefit analysis of migration policies over the last couple of decades or so. In a constitutional novelty the Government has refused to do so, justifying their Contempt of Parliament with the excuse that it is technically not possible to produce such figures. If the cost exceeds the benefit, that's also a form of jizyah.

Wilders, the clever man, is in stitches while the multiculti condemn his proposals as barbaric, uncivilized, fascist, racist, and what have you - only to be confronted with the fact that this is precisely what Muslims do to non Muslims living in what they consider to be "the lands dominated by Islam".

Go, Geert!

* The home of the Ummah (Muslim collective) is the Dar-al-Islam, the land that "belongs" to Islam. It was largely Christian before the conquests. Land that doesn't "belong" to Islam is the Dar-al-Harb, the land of war - that's us; until we submit that is, and become incorporated in Dar-al-Islam.

**
The millet system is explained quite well in this video about the Armenian genocide.

The New New Left: the Return of Authority

In the American Democratic party liberalism is as dead as a doornail. The party has been taken over by the postmodern, radical Left. In Europe they're not yet aware of the fact: they're still laboring under the impression that Obama is the next best thing to JFK. Little do they know. Denial is rife.

In Europe another sort of Change is in the air. Perhaps because they've stumbled upon the obverse side of relativist thought, or maybe because they've stretched the abuse of liberalism to its outer limits, who's to say.

Philosophical twists in Leftist doctrine usually end up as justifying the awful means to an Utopian end. In the best tradition of Hegel's dialectic they're veering from one extreme (relativism) to its antithesis (absolutism), all in the good cause, that goes without say!

Proponents of the relativist approach spent years deconstructing authority and absolutes which they deemed the cause of religious zealots foisting fundamentalism, and bourgeois bigots passing moral judgment. They've done so in a very thorough way over the years. To be fair, there's very little in authority left to deconstruct, and absolutely nothing is left that's absolute (except higher taxes and their relentless hatred).

The problem with relativist thought - as is true for all its derivatives (for example multiculturalism) is that it holds that every idea/culture/nation/class/people/religion/gender/species is equally valid (with the exception of the West's). This ideal of value neutrality makes it impossible for them to criticize their own, or to do some foisting themselves. Not that it ever kept them from savaging their opponents! If it suits their agenda contradiction becomes part of the theory, but it does cause significant levels of cognitive dissonance in the more rational followers.

Just when the Western world had been brought mentally to its knees, the Left make a turn and start the reintroduction of authority. The irony is that it comes from the same crowd that acquainted us to anti authoritarianism 3-4 decades ago. You can bet your bottom nickle that they'll use it against the Right, but for the moment they're making the case that liberalism, well, has it's downside and that the beneficiaries of their concerns are the lumpenproletariat. You know, those who they've kept on the fringes of society for donkeys years to make up their voting base and act as cannon fodder should the occasion arise.

Perceptive observers may have noticed lately a habit in the Left of displaying elitist tendencies. They themselves have also suddenly woken up to their own nobility. The pulpit strategy has alerted some in academe to hitherto untapped possibilities: passing moral judgment on cut-throat capitalism, the noble aim of elevating the unwashed masses (really!), bashing individualism in favor of the safety and coziness of collectivist society, preaching about the necessity of the nanny state, paternalistically telling others what to do and how to live, what to think, and how to behave - all under the usual cover of deontological ethics, that their intent is of the highest moral standard and that it's all for our own good - upper crust knows best.

The disasters of their previous ideas and policies will be offloaded on to liberalism (the pejorative of which is neoliberalism); it will be blamed for malignant Narcissism, out of control  individualism, the nefariously greedy bankers and corporate magnets, the autistic obsession with selfexpression, the atomization of egocentrist capitalist societies. Reds, greens and confessionals are endlessly pounding the cozy togetherness drum against personal achievement, the fruit of labor and the pursuit of happiness.

Here's what's happening on the philosophical level:

- The Platonic mind/body dichotomy is deemed no longer tenable. The new paradigm is entirely biochemical Materialism. The mind resides in the physical brain and man is urged on by hormonal triggers (and society).

The model of man is a computer, with the hard drive in the role of the brain. The elemental question, what in this analogy is feeding this computer, has not yet arisen. It looks like another fallacy of the type that blames the spoon for one getting fat.

In short, the Naturalist and Darwinian perspective that man is the sum total of cells, synapses and the endocrine system carries the day (you will be hardpressed not to get cynical).

Also out are ...
  • Empiricism (don't ask - I haven't been able to find out yet, but I have an inkling what's meant is objective knowledge; but that would mean retaining that element from relativist thought - it will be hard to maintain absolutism if you've got no way of knowing anything for certain [note to self: mark as future trouble spot if they embark on pushing the subjective as an absolute, which they will].

  • Individual autonomy (very important! it is essential to all Leftist thought that man has no free will to speak of (imperative for a functional moral compass), and absolutely no personal autonomy whatsoever (this never sat well with liberalism). This enables blamelessness and victimhood, so central to the progressive narrative!
It will be a sight to behold what Leftist thinkers will come up with to explain the U turn and how to gell authority and absolutes with standing doctrine! But it does facilitate in a great way the compartmentalization of society in minority groups and social classes, enabling the Left to set them against each other so that progress may reign - somewhat like what's happening in the States right now where any opposition to President Obama's anti American policies warrent shrieks of "Racism!"

Proponents of the authority strategy claim the primary aim is to promote universal self-esteem, but not on the basis of talent (which is no achievement) or of personal achievement (which is competative and capitalist). So this self-esteem presumably is on the sole basis of being a member of the collective (this comes perilously close to mob ethics).

Altruism remains the highest trait in a drone: the willingness to sacrifice self to the hive. Dissenters are traitors to the cause and are out ... out! The Leftist elite, like the Soviet nomenklatura, form the uppercrust of an ostensibly classless and egalitarian society in which every cog knows his place in society and is valued on the basis that he's one of theirs.

They will put paid to the neoliberal horrors of hereditory meritocracy. This piece of lingering eugenics follows from the logic that intelligent parents breed even more clever children, while their grandkids in turn will outsmart their parents. These neoliberal meritocrats - in order to get one up on their neighbors have rat races amongst themselves, the root cause of all ills in Western society, to wit:
  • loss of sense of safety and shelter;
  • rewarding of talent (which is unfair because unevenly spread in populations);
  • Rousseau's clarion call: the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer (a cliche and a lie which refuses to wear thin over its 250 year old history);
  • the lack of self-esteem in those "left behind" (the disenfranchised lumpenproletariat).
- Caption: Engraving "The Emancipator of Labor and the Honest Working People (Communists)", Harper's Weekly, February 7, 1874 -

At this point it's getting really fascistic, eh progressive. Try to follow the logic, as it is very instructive!

The neoliberal meritocracy is also detrimental to the autonomy of the family (as if the Left care!) because - in order to meet the progressive standard of equal opportunity, "poor" (equals dumb) families need to be broken up and their children placed in institutions so as to ensure equal starting positions ...

There's no way of knowing at this point if this strand of thought will catch on with the Left. Postmodern relativism initially also made a slow start, but eventually spread like wildfire to the point of debilitating the entire West. We are keeping our fingers on the pulse of the progressive heartbeat and are keeping you abreast of what's brewing.

Honduras and the UN: The Rule of Law in the Postmodern World

Greta van Susteren talks to the Honduran interim 'coup' leader Roberto Micheletti.

Part I

Part II

As the world's autocrats and dictators are descending upon New York for the 64th UN General Assembly - from Iran's student murdering A/jad, and the mad dog of the dessert Ghadafy to the collection of Arab despots and the crypto commies from China and Russia - but one man is excluded from the unholy assembly: you've guessed it, Roberto Micheletti whose visa has been revoked by the post racial, post Enlightenment President Barack Obama.

New York Daily News: "President Obama's big UN adventure", by John Bolton
President Obama's upcoming visit to the 64th UN General Assembly, which opened yesterday, will be nothing if not entertaining. Substantively, Obama should be delighted. A confluence of recent events has brought to fruition his campaign promises to launch diplomacy with our adversaries: Negotiations without preconditions are blooming everywhere. (...)

As Obama speaks, the General Assembly will be chaired by former Libyan Foreign Minister Ali Abdessalam Triki, who was elected president of that body yesterday. Libyan leader Moammar Khadafy himself addresses the General Assembly right after Obama, and they will certainly have a chance to speak together in the cozy waiting area just behind the General Assembly podium. This would be an excellent opportunity to discuss the health of recently released mass murderer Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, convicted of destroying Pan Am Flight 103 and killing 270 people, including 189 Americans, and now free in Tripoli, Libya.

(...) there is no reason why Mahmoud Ahmadinejad should not be on the guestlist. Perhaps he and Obama can have a photo together as Ahmadinejad goes through the receiving line and begin those direct, unconditional talks that Obama promised during the 2008 campaign. Ahmadinejad might well offer a few thoughts on his overwhelming presidential reelection victory on June 12, and his techniques for handling partisan opposition. Even if Ahmadinejad's invitation gets lost in the mail, there are still photo opportunities in abundance, perhaps at the UN secretary general's annual luncheon for visiting heads of state.

North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il is unlikely to attend the opening festivities, because, due to unfortunate "technicalities," his country is still at war with the UN, and has been since it invaded South Korea in 1950. Nonetheless, the Obama administration has enthusiastically embraced negotiations with Pyongyang over its nuclear weapons program, so perhaps Kim can be persuaded to come next year for a roper presidential photo.(...) >>>

Oh, and while on the subject of Darwinian geopolitics: on the eve of the Soviet Union invading Poland, Obama flings Poland and the Czech Republic under the bus. How sensitive and empathic! Mr President, your reflexes are indicative of your ideogical roots.

Wilders: Obama is a Cultural Relativist

In an interview with Dutch online news outlet Nu, Geert Wilders yesterday compared President Obama with the hapless British wartime Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain (1869-1940).

Like Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkende, Obama is an appeaser of Islamic cultural incrementalism. They are united by naive notions of world peace and are willing to sacrifice Western values to achieve it.

They're led by cultural relativism: they believe all cultures are equally valid and fail to identify the real enemy. This is the greatest danger facing the free West today.

- Caption: Geert Wilders and Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs during an occasion earlier this year in New York -

I would not have believed you if you'd have told me even ten years ago that there are 40 to 50 Sharia Courts in Britain alone. The Dutch Government has promised an investigation into the situation in the Netherlands ... because they don't know!

Of course it's early days yet, Wilders says, after only 8 months in office but Obama's foreign policy choices worry him.  As an example he mentions Obama's "infamous" Cairo speech in which he "put the thumb screws" on Israel - a country with which we share cultural values - in favor of a criminal, Palestinian entity. This policy will have wide-ranging geopolitical repercussions.

Wilders mentions the Obama administration's apparent lack of willpower towards Iranian intransigence when it comes to nuclear proliferation, and Obama favoring Turkish membership of the European Union.

Obama is refusing to acknowledge who the real enemy is. It seems sometimes Obama values Islam over the free West. That's irresponsible, because people will fail to be aware of the dangers.

Like Jan Peter Balkenende Obama prefers to sing Cumbaya and ignores the problems that come with encroaching Islamization. Our Prime Minister's hazardous policies are bad enough, but Obama is a many times more powerful politician: he's the world's most powerful man!

Dutch speakers can also see the video on Vodpod.

Only yesterday in another interview in De Telegraaf newspaper Wilders asserted to be looking forward to "the trial of the century". January 20, 2010 the Amsterdam Court will convene for the first session of an indictment brought by political activist prosecutors at the Amsterdam Court of Appeal for ... critiquing Islam.

- Caption: a design by Bosch Fawstin based on Wilders' excentric hairdo -

A number of commentators have detected the sinister hand of the powerful Organization of Islamic Conferences (OIC) behind the text of the indictment

Wilders stated he wants to turn the tables on his prosecutors and indict Islam instead. That's why he's considering calling "radical imams and other idiots" to the witness stand. Defending counsel is perhaps Netherlands best trial lawyer, Abraham Moszkowitcz. Read all about it in "Wilders Fights Back".

Wilders still deeply regrets having to stand trial.

The deep end the Dutch judiciary is in is exemplified by a series of trials in which judges will be weighing whether a (Muslim) plaintiff is justified in being offended by something or other trivial, from cartoons to all sorts of statements.

How ever can a Dutch judge weigh if a Muslim is justifiably offended or not. Way to go would have been for the Courts to affirm the absolute freedom of speech, throwing out subjective notions of "taking offence". As it is we will have to see which way this abomination will go.

The trial will be interesting however from a number of angles. Moszkowitcz has confirmed in De Telegraaf interview he's considering calling a host of international legal eagles in the field of the freedom of speech.

It is to be hoped that the Wilders trial will put an end to the onslaught of judicial postmodern political activism! Some seem hell bent on reversing human progress.

912DC: Which New America, Which New World?

This memorable day, September 12, 2009 thousands and thousands of Americans - a coalition of grassroots, non-partisan movement of ordinary citizens - will be descending upon the capital of their nation, Washington D.C. They will be protesting against the covert sea-change revolution called "change" that is taking place in their country. Few outside the US may know it, but all is not well in the land since We the People was replaced with Hope&Change.

The conceptless label "change" probably originates in the relativist, progressivist philosophy of Pragmatism, but it certainly appears on the terminology index of Neuro Linguistic Programming (or Hypnosis 2.0). NLP is a rather hip, unscientific discipline used primarily in alternative therapies, the counselling industry and in the world of motivational training and coaching.

The Left embraced it as a great opportunity to manipulate others into conforming with their ethics program (the aim justifies the means!). Political correctness is but one branch of that school. Other applications of NLP are less obvious.

The all powerful Cass Sunstein, Obama's Regulatory Czar (since confirmed: 57-40) and author of NLP copybook "The Nudge", has hugely contributed to Obama's "voodoo" campaign (do go to the nudge blog for further ideas, suggestions and interactivity). The "hope&change" brand label may have been his baby, or the King of Astroturf's, David Axelrod. It is beside the point.

If "change" is to become a concept in lieu of a nominal label meaning "transition", it needs further specification: what is the status quo and what is the final goal; how is it reached and why is it desirable? Nobody offered specifics and nobody asked. An entire nation was seduced by a brand label presented by an elegant young black man with a smooth-working teleprompter.

America is no ordinary nation either but the sole country on the face of the earth based on a philosophy! Guess what "change" means for a nation that embodies individualism and personal autonomy? America may not be perfect in practice (who is?), but it is only based upon the best idea conceived by man since the Epiphany of the great Constantine?

Ayn Rand teaches us this about ethics: most choices in every day life play out in a spectrum of greys, but in times of moral stress clear choices become an imperative: good and evil become a zero sum game in which evil has nothing to contribute to the good and good has nothing to gain from evil: every compromise becomes a concession to and the negotiator an accomplice of evil.

Increasingly Americans (and others as well) shall be facing the stark choice, not between the status quo or change, but more basically answer the question if their country is based on a philosophy that reflects human nature, or if they will follow into the footsteps of the Utopists that have gone before us, and whose legacies are filling the history books.

Much as opponents will spin and portray the protestors - often middle aged novices to bull horns and placards - as mobs of racist mercenaries of corporate interests, anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear will recognize the fairness of their goals and merits. Accusations uttered by the opponents are already sounding shrill and are becoming ever giving subject of ridicule.
Few people understand the momentous nature of the brink on which humanity currently stands. But these Americans are the vanguard of a groundswell waking up to reality! Will individual rights and freedom prevail, or do we follow the enslavers who lure us with tales of victimhood and entitlement - ficticious injury to be redressed solely by a  increasingly fascististic state, a vicious alignment of corporatism in the service of total government?

The Pomo Narrative As Revealed by #Van Jones (Updated)

Today, as #Van Jones became a trending topic on Twitter, our notes on the arch demagogue reached sheer unscalable heights. Conservative blogs and broadcasters can't keep up with fresh revelations emerging on Obama's "green jobs czar", but Breitbart's B-Cast are reporting the MsM quite consistently manage to ignore the entire issue.

As a great number of political opponents are demanding Van Jones' resignation, the Obama administration has made it known it is standing by its hand-picked man. Footage has surfaced showing the Obama family "consigliere", Valerie Jarrett proudly admitting watching and capturing the self avowed communist for the White House. (Trevor Loudon of New Zeal gives the background here.)

But the very iconic and vocal Jones, as well as the O-Team's attitude towards him, is giving the entire game away! While Obama is still doing his best to obfuscate the nefarious plans for America and the world, Jones is as straight-forward about it as he can possibly be. When they're done the world shall have Changed beyond all recognition. As Jones announced: "we'll change the whole system!"

For readers who are as yet unaware who Van Jones is, here's a concise laundry list of his radical achievements.

The Truther petition - of which Jones was signatory #46 - holds extraordinary claims: that 9/11 was an inside job and that the Bush government knowingly and willingly allowed the mass killing of 3,000 of its own citizens.

As some commentators have remarked, should Jones really believe these accusations to be true, by rights he should have been marching on to Washington, guns ablazing.  Evidently he's done nothing of the sort. Such insinuations serve quite different purposes.

But the Truther conspiracy theory is probably one of Jones' more rational claims, never mind the poisoning of black communities, the torturing of minorities and all the other outrageous claims posited by Jones and his Postmodern fruit cakes.

Gateway Pundit has more on the Jones Truther involvement; Accurancy in Media have the entire story (so far).

The Jones rants are a singular example of Postmodern rhetoric: it perfectly comprises all of the tricks, equivocations and narrative on the program. To call them Marxist is actually too much of a compliment! These people do not even have a integrated ideology. Contradiction means nothing to them. It's just a narrative - a simplified version of a Sorelian myth to assist them in their power grab.

But master demagogue Van Jones went so far as to turn such a rant into a sermon on "eco spirituality". Here's is one very dangerous "organizer" indeed. ("You were born for a reason - it's not an accident you were born right now ...".)

It's a sob story that has been lapped up over the decades by hordes of deluded sentimentalists, backward subjectivists and uneducated slum dwellers from all over the planet. In fact, the story of their supposed victimhood, suffering under the white, heterosexual male oppresssors is so worn out with abuse that even the most knuckle headed useful idiot by now should be able to recognize it for what it is; but sadly, no.

Sometimes it seems that with every underinformed generation we need to do the entire exercise all over again - a hazardous undertaking that comes with true danger of mass bloodshed and real human suffering. Over 110 million dead will not suffice to convince the adherents that its road leads one way to perdition.

Jones, the Postmodern Machiavelli, recognized environmentalism as the perfect medium in which to cast another version of the Marxist dialectic. The latter is a story, a world view, that is completely unrelated to reality, but which serves nevertheless as a vehicle for agitation.

The idea is to break down the power structure and insert the Utopia Of The Day in its place. To that end the ones in power must be made - by force or voluntarily - to shift rights and power, handing it over to the "have nots". Read here how "the developed world by developing has used up all its rights to further develop! This is the 'voluntary shift' mechanism: "Economy: industrialized world running out of production rights".

Watch the speech by Van Jones  under the suitable auspicies of "Power Shift" (the long version for those who have the heart, but very instructive indeed).

Here's the short version.

And this is a Table of the Postmodern narrative:

Update:

It's official: subjectivists have no concept of fact and truth. Nothing they say or do should ever be taken literally: it's all empty rhetoric for a purpose of expediency. Victimhood and indignation seem to be the appropriate narratives for this particular occasion.

Fox News: "Obama 'Green Jobs' Adviser Van Jones Resigns Amid Controversy"

President Barack Obama's adviser Van Jones has resigned amid controversy over past inflammatory statements, the White House said early Sunday. (...) The resignation comes as Obama is working to regain his footing in the contentious health care debate. (...) The matter surfaced after (...)  Jones' name appearing on a petition connected to the events surrounding the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks. (...)

"On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me," Jones said in his resignation statement. "They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide." Jones said he has been "inundated with calls from across the political spectrum urging me to stay and fight." But he said he cannot in good conscience ask his colleagues to spend time and energy defending or explaining his past. Jones flatly said in an earlier statement that he did not agree with the petition's stand on the 9/11 attacks and that "it certainly does not reflect my views, now or ever." [ed. bla bla]

What the MsM say once that decide to break silence? A video signed for by AP brings Jones' mob Color of Change's assault on Glenn Beck into it. The messenger blames a rival messenger! Nice! It is a typical case of fact confused with opinion. Obama is a racist and Beck amply explained why. Thank you, Glenn Beck!

David Horowitz, who just made an appearence on the Glenn Beck's show, says 'nough is 'nough ("…While the Gettin’s Good: Van Jones Resigns"):

" (...) like Jones, Obama was a command-economy conspiracy theorist. Obama obsessively demeaned his own country (half as frequently as his wife), articulately laid out his belief in transforming the nation through the redistribution of wealth, and campaigned on moving America toward the socialized medicine dystopia Jones’ resignation is intended to help effect. Jones is not a distraction but a clarification of Obama’s deepest-held beliefs about this country and where it should be heading." (...) "can we trust a president so cavalier in his association with such radical and repugnant individuals? You can trust him to continue pursuing Van Jones’ goals."

Howard Dean figures Jones' resignation is a loss to the nation.

Update: Sept. 9

For the record, the most radical rantings by Jones recorded yet.
