Wilders: Obama is a Cultural Relativist

In an interview with Dutch online news outlet Nu, Geert Wilders yesterday compared President Obama with the hapless British wartime Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain (1869-1940).

Like Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkende, Obama is an appeaser of Islamic cultural incrementalism. They are united by naive notions of world peace and are willing to sacrifice Western values to achieve it.

They're led by cultural relativism: they believe all cultures are equally valid and fail to identify the real enemy. This is the greatest danger facing the free West today.

I would not have believed you if you'd have told me even ten years ago that there are 40 to 50 Sharia Courts in Britain alone. The Dutch Government has promised an investigation into the situation in the Netherlands ... because they don't know!

Of course it's early days yet, Wilders says, after only 8 months in office but Obama's foreign policy choices worry him.  As an example he mentions Obama's "infamous" Cairo speech in which he "put the thumb screws" on Israel - a country with which we share cultural values - in favor of a criminal, Palestinian entity. This policy will have wide-ranging geopolitical repercussions.

Wilders mentions the Obama administration's apparent lack of willpower towards Iranian intransigence when it comes to nuclear proliferation, and Obama favoring Turkish membership of the European Union.

Obama is refusing to acknowledge who the real enemy is. It seems sometimes Obama values Islam over the free West. That's irresponsible, because people will fail to be aware of the dangers.

Like Jan Peter Balkenende Obama prefers to sing Cumbaya and ignores the problems that come with encroaching Islamization. Our Prime Minister's hazardous policies are bad enough, but Obama is a many times more powerful politician: he's the world's most powerful man!

Only yesterday in another interview in De Telegraaf newspaper Wilders asserted to be looking forward to "the trial of the century". January 20, 2010 the Amsterdam Court will convene for the first session of an indictment brought by political activist prosecutors at the Amsterdam Court of Appeal for ... critiquing Islam.

A number of commentators have detected the sinister hand of the powerful Organization of Islamic Conferences (OIC) behind the text of the indictment

Wilders stated he wants to turn the tables on his prosecutors and indict Islam instead. That's why he's considering calling "radical imams and other idiots" to the witness stand. Defending counsel is perhaps Netherlands best trial lawyer, Abraham Moszkowitcz. Read all about it in "Wilders Fights Back".

Wilders still deeply regrets having to stand trial.

The deep end the Dutch judiciary is in is exemplified by a series of trials in which judges will be weighing whether a (Muslim) plaintiff is justified in being offended by something or other trivial, from cartoons to all sorts of statements.

How ever can a Dutch judge weigh if a Muslim is justifiably offended or not. Way to go would have been for the Courts to affirm the absolute freedom of speech, throwing out subjective notions of "taking offence". As it is we will have to see which way this abomination will go.

The trial will be interesting however from a number of angles. Moszkowitcz has confirmed in De Telegraaf interview he's considering calling a host of international legal eagles in the field of the freedom of speech.

It is to be hoped that the Wilders trial will put an end to the onslaught of judicial postmodern political activism! Some seem hell bent on reversing human progress.

This is perhaps the most intelligent piece I have read concerning my nation's so-brilliant leader. The next thing I know, he's going to be on television, addressing the nation and saying that we have "achieved peace in our time"--only to be embroiled in a horrendous world fiasco not unlike the horrendous fiasco in which Coalition forces are entangled now--but worse.

Can't disagree in the least. I'm just exhausted having to say this sort of thing over and over though.

Yes James, we've been at this for a long time and no sign of any awakening has taken place. I'm so proud of the folks in the US who have woken up and are not taking it any more. In Europe one can wait a long time for this to happen. Have you read Dr Sam last piece? The European Hegelian elites still have the mandate of heaven!

Oh brother, more hate-mongering.
Anything that quotes Wilders is a big laugh . Seems like people are addicted to negativity and have a never ending thirst of hostility and discrimination. Shame !

Yes Anonymous, you would be anonymous. I don't think you'll come back here (why would you?), but should you come trolling, please address the issue. Namecalling and foisting labels may be a nice vent for you, but other people would like something less boring to read.
