The Fine Art of Agitation and Community Organizing

We've been collecting all these posts and publications over the last few days pertaining to the pseudo civil war currently being fought out in the US over health care reform; but on watching the last two broadcasts of the B Cast on Breitbart TV it all became obsolete. If you've missed what has occurred on the continent of Liberty, the next two Breitbart videos provide a pretty comprehensive overview.

While we've been commenting and updating on the Articles blog in "Ruled by the Mob", on second thought what is going on is even more nefarious than initial analysis warranted. We've got only this to add on the reflexes emanating from the White House.

Folks, we don't need to go down that path again - not in the nation that embodies the philosophy of Liberty. It's been well documented over the last two centuries how Utopias always turn into dystopias, always and without exception. That is because they are build on the principle that individuals have the dire duty to exist for the improvement of everyone else, instead of the other way around.

Christian Democrats and their ilk need to stop vilifying individualism, also in Europe: they need to understand that respect for the individual is our sole guarantee against tyranny!

Here' the White House's assault on Liberty again in its full, neototalitarian glory:

The WH Blog: "Facts Are Stubborn Things" (note: you'll be hard pressed to even find one "fact", apart of the present)

It occurred to me only this morning that there's a quote circulating from one of Orwell's books, asserting that it is just not possible to control an entire nation ("we can't catch all that breathless 'dizinformation' that's percolating on the Internet, all by ourselves"). Therefore what you need to do as Big Brother is find a way for the people to control themselves (help us flag our enemies and report to us).
The devil is in the moral twist - the narrative goes like this: dissent is a deliberate lie per definition; it is therefore unethical, yes -- even evil; therefore dissenters are the enemy of the good (their own intentions are above suspicion, indeed are "all for our own good")! The enemy - not grassroots, but vile "insurance companies, lobbyists, pharmaceuticals, Republican Party activists" etc. - must be flagged and reported.
It was a common experience in all Communist countries before the fall of the Berlin Wall, but it took the thoroughness of the Germans to take it to perfection in the German Democratic Republic (the GDR, or DDR, also known as East Germany). People suffer from it to this very day, as you can read in this article in Der Spiegel.

What you do is you take a great number of party members who're in some way beholden to it in some capacity, and you set them up as spies and informers. These spy and snitch on all the others for "ideologicial dissent", and since no one knows precisely who they are - they may be your best friend, or your son, or your own mother for that matter - nobody's trusting any one any more - the walls have ears ... As a result you have a self sustaining mechanism of perpetual and total control.

You can judge for yourselves how that might work. The 0-team may not have that intention for the moment, but neither do they have the moral compass that tells them that such activities are totalitarian and have no place in a liberal democracy. And that is perhaps the most worrying aspect.

Know your unaccountable czars (the Supreme Soviet, or would that be the Politbureau?) and their ethics system in which people are numbers and statistics (note: group think, and the myths that sustain them). Figures and quotas have taken the place of individual human lives, ditched the notion that each live is of equal intrinsic value and moral dignity.

Just in case you're wondering whatever happened to our liberals, sorry - over the last eight years the Democratic Party kicked out that foreign implant and reverted back to the original school of collectivist postmodernism (read almost every other post in this blog).

Oh and just in case you believe you're safe with the WH's assurances, know that the Regulation czar is author of "The Nudge". This is what we jotted down in "The Pomo White House" just after his appointment:
Mr Nudge - Cass Sunstein - married to National Security Council Director of Multilateral Affairs, Samantha Power - has been nominated as Regulation Czar, but ... how to put this? ... there seems to be some controversy, but in the wrong department. The appointment of the "prolific writer" and inventor of "The Nudge" would place him eminently to do at which he excels: making people act in accordance with the politically correct ethics of the day.

Sunstein is an expert at inducing obedience in the unwashed with the use of psychological trickery - some generation of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP, also known as hypnosis 2.0). The Obama campaign had Mr Nudge's signature all over it. In a later pamphlet he describes his latest thesis on group polarization (see also a number of entries on the file of "Big Brother's Smoke and Mirrors"). The relativist, hyper subjective mass manipulator would indeed come into his own as Obama's Regulation Czar - an amoral witch doctor on steroids. If appointed (and there's no doubt he will) his wishes to "litigate on behalf of animals" may well prove to be the least of our worries.
And for good measure, there's more where that came from! On the "Science Czar", another postmodern, anti human nihilist:
President Obama's Science Czar, John Holdren, took a controversial and amoral approach to the science of population by recommending mass compulsory sterilization and even forced abortion (and/or forced marriages) under certain circumstances. His 1977 tome, Ecoscience, which he co-authored with Paul and Anne Ehrlich, also displays a revealing disregard for the institution of the traditional human family. (...) >>>
Congrats, Obama voters, the real coup didn't happen in Honduras but in the US, right under your own adoring noses!

The New Playbook: Rules for the Right

The post "Three things the Obamedia will do to depress Republican turnout and help Obama" addressed to Republicans, which is up on PUMA blog Hillbuzz, makes one thing stand out as mole on a lily white bosom: that Republicans are playing by a very antiquated rule book.

Here's a News Flash for the defenders of civilized society: there's a war on, y'know!

Here's the thing in military terms. The rules of engagement are dictated by pragmatism: whatever is expedient to the cause - no restrictions - rules. The officer corps consists of agenda driven, Democrat campaign strategists David Axelrod, Dick Morris and Paul Begala et al, the MSM are their foot soldiers. We'll get back to you as soon as we've flushed out the hidden Secretaries of War. While neocons were celebrating the end of history, the opposition unilaterally connived to no longer play by the Geneva convention.

Or let's try explain that in sports terms. Say you are a member of a sports team. All members but you received a letter with recent changes in the rulebook. The next time you enter the field, things will seem strangely different. You'll catch up and get the picture eventually (or not), but right now we are in a defining presidential election in which one party no longer plays by the old rules.

Either Republicans adopt some of the street wise Alinsky Rules for Radicals as championed by the Dems, or think up some winning strategies of their own, fast and furious. Here we advocate the latter, foregoing the unedifying gutter ethics as advocated by the radical Left.

- Caption: the OODA LOOP, of which the Palin VP choice was an example - fighter pilot John McCain must be well versed -

Republicans are always on the defensive, which makes sense for a conservative party. But that means that the forces of 'progress' and 'change' will always have the advantage of the attack. Remember, offense is the best defense.

This has been the frame of reference for donkeys years. The opposition has accumulated loads of strategies and tactics to play a winning game. In fact, they are always on the advance, while conservatives have steadily been losing ground. We may even have reached tipping point in an Obama tenure, when the latitude to recover any lost ground, may be forever forfeited.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union Republicans and conservatives (neo conservatives to a much lesser extent) have taken their eyes off the ball, falling for the oldest trick in the book yet, the assumption that the opponent thinks like them, and therefore must have conceded defeat. Per Fukuyama, it was game, set and match - or was it?

But the forces of change neither sleep, nor will they ever acknowledge that their ideology is based on a fallacy. That has been the whole point of the subjectivist campaign over the last two centuries: "If reason makes no sense to your argument as reality clearly shows otherwise, attack reason as pernicious and superficial, and persuade the world that reality doesn't exist."

The beast no longer presents itself by the old Socialist epithets; these have no meaning to younger voters anyway (the commie memes would have been useful, given that they pierce the romanticist PR bubble). Today's neotot guise is that of the Postmodern politician, fuzzy, bordering the anti statesman. Passion driven, but undefined messages of 'hope' and 'change' have taken the place of objective definitions.

They project the image of a slight lean towards a few carefully targeted collective measures, and seem vaguely sympathetic to larger governments, that befit "the demands and requirements of a fast globalizing world" ... all for the greater good, of course.

The approach to working the masses is charged with high emotion; fact, truth and reality are putty, pliable as the aim requires. The message is that times truly have changed, that old laws have become obsolete, that man has evolved into a new being with a superior morality who is no longer in need of the crude logic of shopkeepers. Truth is, that metaphysical laws do not change, only man-made creations do.

And so they play at impressions, perceptions, building false image constructs (e.g. the bitter, angry McCain or the haute couture addicted Palin), catching emotions before they're filtered and exposed to the harsh reality of reason.

This trick is even easier to pull on impressionable young people whose minds are open to suggestion (see also "The Comprehensive Guide to Youth for Obama"). It is very old playbook harking back to old Europe during the interbellum, when Mussolini and Corporal Hitler were playing the masses with false dichotomies, vacuous sound bites and the overwhelming demagogy of passion with an appeal to the will of the people.

The Left - by their innate philosophy of coercion that gives them a free pass to manipulate people's minds - have harnessed a host of psychological strategies to their battle wagon.

What gives, if in the process they create a semi Fascist, crypto totalitarian society? Or perhaps that is precisely that what they have in mind, so they can pronounce liberal democracy - a corollary of individual rights - obsolete as well. Utopia is always built on the ashes of collapsed empires.

The campaigner of today needs to formulate strategies to deflect the 'end justifies the means' assaults, which are typical of the essentially amoral, pragmatism driven campaigns. You can start by taking their own advice.

Study and read to shreds Hillbuzz' "Three things the Obamedia will do to depress Republican turnout and help Obama": resist the mantra of the media cyborgs, resistence is futile, give up the fight, the race is over; ignore the false siren calls of early landslides, be not impressed by pent up claims - "It’s all a head game, a fake out. All of this talk (...) is just garbage the Obamedia shovels to make you give up and sit home so Obama can win. (...) It really is as simple as that ...

Update: the conceptual framework has now been identified: rather than conventional war it's more like asymmetrical warfare, in which insurgents use all means possible to weaken and defeat the incumbents. Therefore, we should look at counter-insurgency models for a proper answer.

Yes, He Can!

Over the last few weeks we've asked a number of our correspondents tongue in cheek, how do you spell Soros backwards, and would he be able to trigger a financial crisis all by himself?

Surprisingly, the intrepid investigator Cliff Kincaid of Accuracy in Media now seems to be answering that question in the affirmative: Yes, he can!

In other words, this may after all look like a conspiracy to get candidate Obama elected on a platform of "the Dems own this economy, stupid"?

With Joe "the Mouth" Biden making headlines with his "generated crisis" for a President Obama, is the financial collapse a coincidence, only six weeks before the election, when John McCain was leading in the polls, and appearing to be on his way to a election victory?

"The crisis was man-made", states Kincaid boldly.

Let's start at the bottom and then read "Who’s Behind the Economic Collapse?" top down, keeping in mind the very personal vow taken by the Anti Christ of Haute Finance, to defeat Bush in 2004 — with every penny if necessary ... (Malkin pulls a number of threads in the tarantula's web) ...

(...) A hedge fund operator such as George Soros, who was convicted of insider trading in France, is known to make money from the collapse of national economies and currencies. Labeled “The Man who broke the Bank of England” because of his financial activities against the British currency, he is said to be on a witness list of hedge fund operators that will be called to testify before Congress next month―probably after the election. (...)

Soros insists that one contributing factor to the crisis was the lack of financial regulation. But he takes advantage of the lack of those regulations. Indeed, as I reported back in 2005, one Soros company was a member of the Managed Funds Association, which describes itself as “the global voice for the hedge fund industry” and was actively fighting an SEC proposal to impose more regulation on hedge-fund managers.

The ranking of top hedge fund earners for 2007 shows John Paulson of Paulson & Co. at $3.7 billion and George Soros of Soros Fund Management at $2.9 billion.

Is there anybody in the media willing to question Soros about how he made that money? And whether it came at the expense of the American people? (...)

Obamania and the Psychology of Fear and Guilt

On the lighter side of politics and for the fence-dwellers, here's a rather good "who's your ideal candidate?".

In the bubbling cauldron of campaign passion a number of writers have taken a more contemplative attitude, analyzing the psychology behind Obamania that has taken the US by storm. Fouad Ajami on Wall Street Journal in "Obama and the Politics of Crowds", subtitled "The masses greeting the candidate on the trail are a sign of great unease," looks at the rather worrisome phenomenon of Third World style crowds.

It reminds him of what the media terms 'the Arab Street': "the tragedy of Arab political culture has been the unending expectation of the crowd -- the street, we call it -- in the redeemer who will put an end to the decline, who will restore faded splendor and greatness. (...) the faith in the Awaited One lives on, and it would forever circle the Arab world looking for the next redeemer."

Third World style demagogy of the meaningless platitudes of 'change' and 'hope' could just as easily turn into Third Reich passionate rhetoric. After all, there is no basic difference between tribal societies and totalitarian ones. From the faintings and hysterics at the mass rallies you'd have thought the nation was decimated by famine and pestilence over the last few years!

What we see is a collection of hedonistic Narcissists, force-fed on dialectically induced self-loathing through Ayers' educational reform. They're simply unable to deal with the surge in cognitive dissonance as a result of their idealistic self-image as caring, generous people, that clashes with the cultivation of intense hatred, of which Bu$hitler has been the main recipient.

Of course these drones are largely Subjectivists, meaning that they've substituted reason with emotion as a cognitive tool. At some point they'll find that feelings cannot guide them, but that they can experience no emotions save one: terror. To escape from its impotence they seek safety in numbers, a frantic desire to belong and attach themselves to some group, gang, clique, whatever hive.

For certain is, that the choice for Obama as the next POTUS is an emotional one, made on the basis of the dangerous potion of guilt and fear: the hope of white redemption. Policies (or lack thereof) are irrelevant to most, only few bother to rationalize their choice.

David Kupelian in "Yes, Barack Obama really is a Manchurian candidate" explains the power of guilt, of which - it must be said - Democrats, as the party of the KKK and segregation - may suffer more than - say, Evangelicals.

"(...) Americans – even though slavery and segregation are long gone from the national scene – still have a large and understandable reservoir of collective guilt over its past exploitation and mistreatment of blacks. Guilt is a fantastically powerful factor in all of our lives. (...) When we're guilty we try to relieve this inner conflict, and this is often a good thing. (...)

Manipulative and unprincipled humans soon discover how to use our guilt to get their way. They can even make us feel guilty when we haven't done anything wrong – for instance, by way of false accusation, a tactic the left has perfected. (...) With white voters in particular, there is a strong urge to finally move beyond our collective guilt over slavery and to prove, once and for all, that we're not a nation beset by racism – by electing a black president.

It's not an exaggeration to call this guilt-induced way of looking at Obama, this conditioned attitude, a type of trance. We hold him to a different standard, we see and feel (...) a desire for his success (...) all based on guilt. But love based on guilt is not real love. It's just an unconscious attempt to rid ourselves of guilt. Shelby Steele, author of "White Guilt: How Blacks and Whites Together Destroyed the Promise of the Civil Rights Era," puts it this way: "[Americans] struggle, above all else, to dissociate themselves from the past sins they are stigmatized with." (...)

Did you ever get angry at your kids – and then find yourself "being nice" to them to make up for the guilt of having been impatient? With that in mind, consider just one of many ways guilt (in this case, racial guilt) can find its way into you: Let's say you're walking down the street and a group of black men are walking toward you, and you become fearful (very similar to the story Obama famously told about his white grandmother). That fear has a little resentment attached to it, for that's the nature of fear. But when you become resentful for any reason at all, you automatically incur guilt, because resentment is a wrong, failing way for mature human beings to respond to the stresses of life.

Now, saddled with this new guilt associated with black people, a compulsion rises up from within you to make up for that guilt – which you do by discovering a mysterious affinity for black people that wasn't there before. But that "love" isn't real love – it's all rooted in guilt and resentment (just like when you got impatient with your kids, then suddenly became "nice" to them to compensate for your anger). Although my example here centers on race, this guilt principle is universal. (...) read it all, also why Barack Obama really is the Manchurian candidate >>> (read also "Who Sent Obama?").

As some would have it (and it makes sense) the MSM have made a reckless choice by putting all their cards on a "monolithic, single-party government [which] will crush the alternative media via a revived Fairness Doctrine, re-invigorate unions by getting rid of secret votes, and just maybe, be beholden to people like you in the traditional media for getting it there".

But once the ideology driven collective unfolds, perhaps they'll realize too late how much they've got to answer for. In an age of indoctrination induced self-loathing dictators rise because men do not know their own course, and values have no means to resist his promises and demands. A nation does not learn from disaster, it only does from discovering its cause.

Let us call it a day by drawing attention to the activities of a fellow Objectivist, a great campaigner for the Jewish and American cause ...

Alinsky's Legacy: the Subversion Handbook

"Republicans still assume that the modern Democratic Party (...) will play fair. (...) it is always easier to do nothing (...) that is the kind of apathy Hitler's forces counted on in the Weimar Republic. The end-justifies-the-means cabal figures that even good people find it easier to do nothing. (...) when Republicans don't pay attention to the corruption and allow themselves to get screwed time and again, they are also in league with the devil. By this failure of will, the sins of omission are as evil as sins of commission. (...) "

--Excerpts from Diane Alden's article "Saul Alinsky and DNC Corruption" (Published Jan. 7, 2003)
_________________________________________________________

'Rules for Radicals' by Saul D. Alinsky is an handbook for how 'Have-Nots' can take power away from the 'Haves.' In it he explains how to manipulate the political system through "community organization" using a mantra of "change". Obama is the embodiment of the Alinsky's Legacy.

This has been known for many years, but even today very few people recognize it.

On 19 October 2008 Colin Powell was dismissive of any link of Obama to radicalism. But he has always been one of the traditional soldiers who think in terms of conventional war (remember the Powell Doctrine) and has never understood Irregular Warfare. This is the thinking that caused so much loss of blood, money, and influence as a result of actions in Vietnam and Iraq.

The ability of Obama to implement Alinsky's plan is due to his appealing image, to his skills, and to the transformation of American culture as a result of postmodern thought. It is not difficult to connect the dots.

1. Barack Obama became involved in community organizing as a result his attraction to the Saul Alinsky approach. Saul was a Marxist who bragged in 'Rules for Radicals' that his success was due to the efforts of Lucifer. This allowed him to lie and cheat and steal to reach an objective. Ends justifying the means had previously allowed Hitler, Mussolini and Lenin to gain power. Who does Obama follow?

2. Before Alinsky, Obama had Frank Davis as a "mentor" in Hawaii. He was also a radical socialist. Thus, it was natural for Obama to gravitate to the revolutionary plans of Alinsky. This in turn made him comfortable with Black Liberation Theology under the tutelage of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

- Caption: Obama celebrating his 1996 Illinois State Senate seat
victory with members of the Marxist controlled New Party. -

3. Then the next logical step in Alinsky's Legacy was involvement with William Ayers, a revolutionary since the 1960s, in the distribution of 100 million dollars to radicalize the youth of Chicago (ed. otherwise known as the Chicago Annenberg Challenge).

4. Finally came a campaign for the presidency which took Alinsky's plan to the national level with support from the far left of the Democratic Party.

None of this would have been possible in traditional American culture, but it was made possible by postmodern thought. The seeds of postmodernism were planted by the chaos, death, and destruction of World War I, it grew into the Counter Cultural movement following World War II, spread through our schools and universities, corrupted the media and the legal system, and eroded the traditional American culture.

Since the 1960s Americans has been transformed by the emotion appeal of a Utopia of individualism, hedonism, and equality of outcomes without any restraints on behavior from sacred authority, i.e. shared values, mores, and attitudes based on morality, ethics, or religion.

No longer does each human have an immortal soul, no longer is patriotism sacrifice for your country, no longer is marriage a life time convent between one man and one woman, no longer is charity for the disadvantaged the responsibility of each individual, no longer is each person responsible for his/her actions, and no longer is there objective truth.

How can a person like Barrack Hussein Obama with such questionable credentials gain support and adulation from millions by using words--which contradict any rational analysis of his past--in subjective appeals to what people desperately want?

Why does black pride and white guilt count for so much? Why does Obama's hypocrisy, financial indiscretions, anti-American past, and questionable associations count for so little? Could the answers be that the USA is now in the declining stages of its cycle? (See: Understanding Change)

How far will the Legacy of Frank Davis and Saul Alinsky be taken? Can it be stopped? Can the cycle be reversed?

The Bother with the Bailout Bill

The text of the Bailout Bill in PDF format by Fox News.

World is shocked, shocked ... House Reps throw out corporate social security act!

Video archive material on hearings: Democrats blocking Republican calls for regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

The video shows what no one wants to learn: the way to hell is paved with good intentions; but the effect of selfish capitalism means prosperity for all! Point being, a system that works, in tandem with the right philosophy based on the real reality (as opposed to a perceived, or wished one) takes courage - isn't for the meek or the feeble of spirit ...

Dr Sanity: "CAPITALISM IS GOOD FOR THE SOUL-- IF YOU HAVE ONE

Until we get that (Barack), engineering and regulating will lead to more failures, crisis and mayhem!

(For your own good and) for morality read fifty times "The Fable of the Bees:"

The Grumbling Hive: or, Knaves Turn'd Honest

A spacious Hive well stock'd with Bees,
That lived in Luxury and Ease;
And yet as fam'd for Laws and Arms,
As yielding large and early Swarms;
Was counted the great Nursery
Of Sciences and Industry.
No Bees had better Government,
More Fickleness, or less Content.
They were not Slaves to Tyranny,
Nor ruled by wild Democracy;
But Kings, that could not wrong, because
Their Power was circumscrib'd by Laws. >>>

Here's the best explanation yet.

But here's the thing:

Real Clear Politics: "In Times of Crisis, Trust Capitalism", by Joseph Calhoun

The US government (...) claim this intervention is urgently needed and if we don’t act, the consequences are dire. Dire, as in New Depression dire. Have these supposed experts on capitalism forgotten how it really works?(...) There is not a shortage of capital for well run financial companies. There is, however, a shortage of capital for companies that have acted irresponsibly with investor capital in the recent past. For some reason, our political leaders believe this is a failure of the market, but isn’t this what should be expected from rational investors? (...) The biggest bank failure in the history of the United States happened last Thursday night and by Friday morning, it was business as usual. (...) The taxpayers didn’t lose anything and depositors didn’t lose anything, only investors. That is how capitalism works in case everyone has forgotten. The “crisis” we face today is not a creation of the market. (...)

There has been much commentary recently about the role of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in the creation and expansion of the sub-prime mortgage market which many believe to be the cause of this mess. That criticism is certainly warranted, but little attention has been paid to the real culprit – the Federal Reserve.

There has always been a stigma attached to borrowing directly from the Fed and for good reason. If a bank can’t get other banks to lend it money, that tells the market something about the condition of the bank in question. Last August, Bernanke convinced three large banks to borrow at the discount window in an effort to remove that stigma. When that didn’t work, he concocted a scheme to allow banks to borrow from the Fed in anonymity via a mechanism he called the Term Auction Facility. (...) Banks will not lend to each other because they don’t know which ones are really in trouble. The rise in inter-bank lending rates is a rational market response to a lack of information.

Furthermore, why pay those inter-bank rates when the Fed or ECB is offering easier terms? These opaque lending facilities are just part of the problem created by the Fed and Treasury. (...) Now markets are waiting on pins and needles as the politicians haggle over the details of the latest bailout attempt by the Fed and Treasury. This has introduced another roadblock to the re-capitalization and reorganization of the financial industry. Companies that are in need of capital are waiting to see if the plan will bail them out of their difficulties. If Hank Paulson is willing to pay an above market price for their bad loans, why should they dilute their equity now? (...) Why take Tony Soprano terms when Uncle Sam is willing to let the taxpayer take the hit for you?

(...) This plan short circuits the capitalist model which would allow the stronger, well-run institutions to gain market share and/or expand profit margins. The long-term effect will be to lower the overall return on capital in the financial services industry. The government apparently believes that the key to economic recovery is to allocate limited resources in an inefficient manner. Does that make sense? (...) The Fed is the one keeping the market from functioning. The Treasury does not need to enter the market for it to start functioning; the Fed needs to leave the market.

Paulson has said that the cause of the current problems is the housing deflation, but that ignores the elephant in the living room. The housing bubble, which was concentrated in a relatively small number of states, was caused by the reckless actions of the Greenspan Fed. The consequences of that bubble have been exacerbated by the Bernanke Fed. (...) We got into this mess because we tried to avoid the consequences of the Internet bubble. We will only make things worse by trying to avoid the consequences of the housing bubble. We are not on the verge of a new depression. (...)

Investors who made mistakes in these markets should be held responsible and those who navigated the Fed-distorted market should be rewarded for their wisdom and prudence. Enacting the Paulson plan will not allow that to happen and our economy will suffer for it in the long run.

The Japanese tried to prop up failed banks in the aftermath of the bursting of their twin bubbles and the result was 15 years of stagnation. Why are we emulating a strategy that is a demonstrable failure? A better alternative would be to allow capitalism to work as it should and stop the interventions of the Fed in the money market. Trust capitalism. It works. >>>

There have been interviews today with a few very experienced traders who went through all the financial crises in current history. They said the following: "Banks do not lend each other- have no trust, what they need are intermediaries, so-called clearing houses." This is apparently normal practice, but investment banks do not like it because they'll make less money in that way. He ended by saying that the turning point has probably been reached.

Another in The Netherlands pointed out that propping up Fortis Bank with a relatively vast amount has failed. Stocks plummeted 23,5% today in spite of it. He said that "this must run its course".

The above may be an indication that the rebellious House Republicans may be right, specifically considering the astronomic amount of money involved. Perhaps this shake out (or correction) must be allowed to run its course. Bailouts stand symbol for distrust in markets. Per above article here too, "Trust capitalism. It works."

The Perception Campaign: Update

Yesterday, in an update to "The Twin Blessings of Denial and Projection" we commented to Phyllis Chesler's posting "The Coming Civil War in America". We need to come back on the subject because so few people seem to realize and understand the mechanism. Chesler:

"Each of the Presidential candidates and those who support them are fighting for the soul of America. Each has a radically different world view; each inhabits a radically different culture. (...) The Democratic National Convention had music by the great Stevie Wonder; Jennifer Hudson(...) Melissa Etheridge; Sheryl Crow; (...) John Legend (...) Will.i.am, a member of the funk/hip-hop group, The Black Eyed Peas. Robert Moore, a Rosebud Sioux tribal Council member, sang a traditionally non-traditional version of the national anthem.

The entire convention, especially the last night when Obama spoke, was the equivalent of a rock concert. To many people, especially younger people, this is what moves them, what is real. Only celebrity, “spectacle,” performance, and popular music have authority, are familiar, and command their respect. The Republican National Convention had very little music. "

This is what decades of liberal doctrine in education has done for us. You can read it all for yourself and comment if you wish >>>.

What few objective thinking people are aware of, is that the Leftist campaign isn't about truth and fact, but aims at manipulating perception in order to influence subconscious preferences. This is fine if your aim is to sell shaving foam, cars or booze. It gets a lot trickier when our opinion making process is manipulated in such a way, that free choice is being by-passed (a.k.a. moral lobotomy).

The ingredients of the DNC political rock-concert were no coincidence. Make no mistake about it: the faux Greco-Roman setting was calculated to convey Presidential regalia, even if done so ostentatiously that they fooled no one outside of the DNC circuit (indeed, like the 'presidential seal' it was done so disengeniously that it bordered farce).

Objective philosophies are based on the fact that knowledge builds from subconscious sensations which, from early childhood on, are automatically integrated into perceptions. In a mature thought process these perceptions must be consciously converted into concepts - or so they should, any way. This is the seat of human free will.

Conversion takes effort, time and the wish to integrate concepts in a rational system of thought on which opinions are based. Not integrated opinion combines for example individual rights with the redistribution of wealth on the basis that both are "what nice people are all about".

Integrated opinion pairs individual rights to free-market capitalism, because these are corollaries of free will. On the other hand, redistribution of wealth follows if the collective is the operative unit. Collectivism precludes free will and with it - the field of ethics, which is all about free choice.

So: sensations - subconscious -> percepts - conscious -> concepts

The subjectivist cohorts aim to catch the human mind unawares, before conscious thought sets in. They seek to insinuate preconceptions on the subconscious sensations-percepts level (this is why they are called pre-conceptions).

Adolf Hitler and all demagogues like him did the exact same thing. These massive hives of semi-tranced humans have the subconscious backdoor of the mind wide open to all kinds of vibes, benign, or malign as the case may be. In any case, no responsible, independent person wants his thought processes meddled with by mind-games.

From the same family of sloppy thought stems the Palin smear campaign ('psycho-analyzed' by Dr Sanity in this week's "Carnival of Insanities"). The rumor machine shares with the demagogues the wish to insinuate adverse emotions at an early stage, before a conscious, rational opinion of the person can be formed.

In the frenzy of hatred (projection) they do not realize there's a downside to the gutter approach: it might easily backfire. Evidence is they're already far over the top with the campaign of character obliteration. Here's a site which keeps tally; he's working overtime: the number stands at 71 (!!!) to date!

Update: in yesterday's post we discussed the psychological defense mechanism of denial. Denial is the opposite end of the subjectivist fallacy that thought creates reality (if you die overnight will the sun be rising tomorrow? no, say subjectivists). If thought creates reality, then 'not thinking' (denying) it, makes the unpleasant reality go away, or so the infered logic goes.

Fake Revelation in a Faux Greco-Roman Setting

Rational people ponder questions on the basis of logic, integrating concepts and facts with existing knowledge. To the person of reason reality exists independently from his mind. They look to the outside world as a source of information. After thorough integration they try to persuade others of their point of view on the basis mature debate and valid argument.

This simple premise does not hold true for those who have rejected reason as their method to knowledge. They rather chose for their input emotion, passion, intuition and various other means of revelation from within the depths of their own persons (why are we surprised we're breeding pocket versions of Narcissus, all vying for the position of Master of the Universe?).

Among the second group of humans we count today's Leftists, small l liberals, Democrats, environmentalists, multiculturalists, gender and identity theorists, Greens, Socialists, Third World liberation theorists, and possibly other Postmodernists (among them a fair amount of less and less closeted Nazi admirers) that have turned against reason, individualism, free market capitalism, science and technology and all the terrible evils of civilization that go with it.

Other than the rationalists, they cannot rely on facts, reason, debate, and arguments to convince us of their point of view: they hold that such objective information simply isn't available to humans. They therefore have two avenues open to them to enforce their neotot standpoint on others. One way would be to forcibly suppress individual free will, making it subservient to the 'common will' of the collective, which was unsuccessfully practiced by a number of regimes, jointly responsible for over 100 million deaths over the course of just one century.

A less crude but trickier way is to try change people's way of looking at the world by adjusting their perception of reality. LSD in the public water supply would be one method. More refined is the application of rhetorical spin, re-framing, the use of certain idiom and redefining definitions of strategically chosen words; mind games, the dissemination of memes that may be triggered by symbolism, catch words or the use of images as set out in an earlier post, "Demagogy, Voodoo and Hypnosis 2.0."

Alternatively they might look at the theatrical and artistic world for inspiration: it has expert experience of smoke and mirrors and knowledge how to harnass style, music, visual and audio effects to induce trance in crowds.

Part III of the series "When Reason Fails: Morbid Obama Intoxication" explained the political and philosophical dimensions. The Blairite and Clintonian eras saw the perfection of the rhetorical and literary discipline, now in the light of today's subliminal manipulation perhaps a bit primitive and naive.

These fake spiritual experiences induced in huge crowds of course convey no factual information at all, but they do reduce the participant to the state of a mindless savage, with the back-door of the subconscious wide open to the reception of perception adjusters. When we hear a speech of Adolf Hitler we hear no words at all, but merely sounds delivered in a certain hypnotizing cadence.

What we saw last week during the DNC in Denver was a carefully orchestrated build up over the course of four days, culminating in a ritual ceremony celebrated by his holiness The Being of Light. Too bad of the faux Greco-Roman game show setting, which was on the whole perhaps - in all its splendorous kitch - a bit of an anti-climax.

The delusion of denial the irrational crowd has been living in over the last eight years finds its continuum into the period of the new presidential campaign; it will probably live on - no matter who will be elected President come the elections in November, until they are ready to accept the realities of the physical world once again. The only remedy is confrontation.

The overtly sexist (and latently racist) Left dismiss and sneer McCain's VP choice, in general being extremely ungracious about it. But in the process they appear to have shot themselves in the foot, enraged as they are that Bush III stole the limelight away from the Obama homily: "More to Sarah Palin Than Meets the Eye" by Rick Moran.

Earlier it seemed the Obama election was slam dunk. Now it appears they are too deluded to even correctly gauge the situation; what's more, they seem oblivious of their own predicament.

- Dialog from Star Trek Next Generation:

Borg Hugh: You probably don't know what it's like to be lost and frightened. You will listen to any voice who promises change.
Commander Riker: Even if that voice insists on controlling you?
Borg Hugh: That's what we wanted. Someone to show us a way out of the confusion. He promised clarity and purpose; he seemed like a savior; promised to make us superior, but he had no idea how to keep his promise. He began to ask for sacrifices for the sake of the greater good ...

Save the World: Democrats for McCain (update)

Rumour emanating from Denver, Colorado has it that the Democratic Polit Bureau and their enforcers are upsetting the more democratically inclined Democrats.

Those who do not go home in shame with bruised body parts are uniting behind the Republican candidate, John McCain in the organization Not Ready 08.

It's okay, really ....!

Neo Neocon has an interesting analysis of another, considerable group of dissenters, the PUMAs.

PJ: "Why PUMAs Can’t Just ‘Get Over It"

Why, many ask, can’t the PUMAs get with the program and unite behind Obama? (...) The PUMAs perceive Obama as having played dirty. And not just in a generic way, but by using the twin evils of sexism and racism to his advantage. If these women had previously bought the idea that the Democratic Party is above that sort of thing, they’ve now experienced a profound shock—and that shock is a very a personal one. (...)

Many of these women have supported the struggle against sexism and racism for decades, and believed their party to be champions of both causes, which were seen as linked rather than opposed. And yet they now perceive themselves to be on the receiving end of sexism, while at the same time they stand accused of racism, and merely for preferring another contender over the African-American candidate Obama. The disillusionment they feel is no doubt profound, and it taps into something far more basic than the usual intra-party policy or personality spat.

All the while, much of the MSM and the Democratic Party is demanding that they be the ones to get over it and jump onto Obama’s bandwagon with alacrity. And this despite the fact that his efforts at rapprochement with them have been less than overwhelming. Not only was Hillary not given a courtesy VP vetting (...) it is somewhat puzzling that Obama has failed to take most of the fairly simple and basic steps that would have gone quite a way towards soothing the still-festering wounds (...)

But whatever the reasons that Obama has failed to reach out effectively to the PUMAs, it doesn’t speak well of his ability (correction: his claim) to have a special knack for bringing people together (...) Obama’s attitude towards Hillary supporters is the first real test in this campaign of his actual diplomacy, as opposed to his speeches about it. If so, he gets an F. >>>

New Fascism Affirmed

What was already officially confirmed for some time, has now been re-affirmed (as if that was necessary). The Democratic National Party Convention in Denver is the epicenter of a global madhouse that has shed all innocence it might ever have had in denying, excusing, justifying, aiding and abetting evil.

It has now moved beyond the merely irrational and morally depraved. It surpasses even the Postmodern Dialectic explanation and is way beyond an ideological 'accident.'

The word that comes to mind is 'sick' but that doesn't begin to cover it. The explanation of life as a mere absurdity leads to nihilism and beyond that, to anti-ethics.

Here's one for the books ... (and this is just Day 1)

Residents who live near the mosque say they could hear the victims' screams. (...) >>>
