Historical ignorance and postmodern revisionism (so called 'narrative') hit the world of higher diplomacy. The net result is moral equivalence, the democratic process in the Middle East set back for eons, and the victims of totalitarianism and tyranny thrown under the bus.

Revising "the Logic of Hegemony"

John Rosenthal has got a worthy piece of prose up on Pajamas Media that makes the skin crawl. "German Publishing’s Man in the White House" tells of Obama's ties to Germany's Bertelsmann Publishing and a massive conflict of interest yet to be fully disclosed.

There's the fact that the emporium happens to be the President Elect’s principal source of income, but even worse, perhaps hard to imagine in this day and age - or sadly, not any more - the Bertelsmann conglomerate does not belong to the vein of Teutons, who in a less politically correct time, were referred to as 'good Germans'.

Consider: the Bertelsmann Foundation and Corporation are two perfectly intertwined entities, both in effect, emanations of the Mohn family. Rosenthal:

"It might be considered irrelevant today that Bertelsmann massively collaborated with the Nazi regime during World War II. (For more on this, see “Bill Clinton’s German Paymasters.”) But it is surely not irrelevant that when German researcher Hersch Fischler first brought this fact to light, the family proposed to have the matter further investigated by one Dirk Bavendamm. Bavendamm is the family’s “in-house” historian, having written no fewer than three commissioned histories of the Mohn family and the Bertelsmann Corporation.

As so happens, he is also an open revisionist, who calls World War II “Roosevelt’s War” and suggests — à la contemporary 9/11 conspiracy theorists writing on George W. Bush — that Franklin Delano Roosevelt intentionally permitted the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor to occur. Bavendamm has even written a book on the subject with the curious title Roosevelt’s War 1937-45 and the Puzzle of Pearl Harbor [Roosevelts Krieg 1937-45 und das Rätsel von Pearl Harbor].

“With the events of December 7-8, 1941 [i.e., the attack on Pearl Harbor], Roosevelt … had achieved his most important aims,” Bavendamm has written in an essay on the subject [German link], “America’s entry into the War occurred with the enthusiastic consent of the overwhelming majority of the American people — … Roosevelt had finally convinced them that it was their sacred duty, guns in hand to defend freedom, democracy, and prosperity around the world.” (For more on Bavendamm, see Hersch Fischler and John Friedman’s “Bertelsmann’s Revisionist” here.)

The theory that the Pearl Harbor attack was a set-up is, incidentally, standard neo-Nazi fare. Interestingly enough, in his infamous “God Damn America!” sermon, Obama’s longtime pastor Jeremiah Wright invokes precisely this theory as apparently well-established fact: “The government lied about Pearl Harbor too,” he says. “They knew the Japanese were going to attack. Governments lie.”

The Obama team and the Mohns would undoubtedly say that it is scandalous to suggest that the Mohns were using their millions to influence the American presidency or that Obama could possibly be corrupted. (...) >>>

Be that is may, the Ayn Rand/Stephen Hicks school of philosophy never misses target. Mutual attraction apart, follow the irrationals, follow the collectivists, follow America hatred, and sooner or later one ends up in places where bodies have been piling up, eventual good intentions notwithstanding.

Dutch Now Officially Certifiable

Who thought that World War II was won by the Allies and that Europe was liberated by Americans, Canadians, Brits, Australians, Kiwis, Free French, Free Dutch and Free Poles, had better think again. Because this is the old historical version which stems from a time when Western hegemonism allowed such false, ethnocentric lies to flourish.

But the blessings of postmodernism have lifted the imperialist fog from our blurred historical vision and now we see the light! The course of world historical events will be adjusted accordingly.

The long and difficult task now awaits us to come to terms with the harsh reality that it was the heroic efforts of former overseas subjects to whom we owe the debt of present day freedom; the precious liberty that allows us, if we so wish, to become as mad as hatters and scatter all sense of reality to the four winds.

Contrary to reactionary belief the glorious 1945 victory over the Fascist Pigs was brought about by Fearless Colonials and Ditto Immigrants, born decades after the fact.

A Dutch Socialist Secretary of State in an interview with Dutch Islamic Broadcasting (NIO) has therefore expressed the wish to see greater emphasis on their role in the liberation of the country and of Europe in general. Education students must be taught about such matters, so as to pass on the real truth to future generations of school children.

An imperialistic Elsevier commentator cries foul: 'falsification of history!'

Revisionism pure and simple, we agree. What's the story? Five years ago in a western Amsterdam burrough, a number of World War II commemorative wreaths were savagely torn apart by a gang of Moroccan hoodlums, a fixture in such parts of the capital.

A local Socialist alderman, likewise of Moroccan descent (presently holding some national office, I forgot which) - well versed in the art of civic manipulation - commissioned historical research to be carried out in the national archives, in order to unearth some possible role that Moroccans might have played in the liberation of the country.

However unlikely, the expenditure of hundred thousand euros yielded result. Lo and behold, in 1940 the French army, contributing to the defence of an island under threat of being overrun by the Nazi jackboot, turned out to have included a number of French colonial troops of Moroccan origin. Mission accomplished, as future commemorations would now be held in honor of the heroic desert defenders as well. (Supposedly this should prevent future wreath desecration, an assumption which telling in itself.)

Not content with the Moroccan results, the other major immigrant cohorts would naturally have to share in the honours as well: the vast Turkish contingent, but also the former Dutch colonials of the present day Latin American nation of Suriname, and the Caribbean islands eparchy of the Netherlands Antilles (Curacao) would also have to be included.

It goes without saying that historical records indeed showed their contributions to the war effort to have been considerable - which contrary to the Moroccan 'stretch of the imagination' - happens to be not entirely divorced from reality. Suriname - rich in bauxite - has furnished the United States with indispensable aluminium ore for the aviation industry, while Shell in Curacao delivered kerosene.

The Turkish contribution though proved a tougher nut to crack. Eventually it was established that Turkey might well have been situated on a flight route out of occupied Europe.

This is subjectivism in action: 'facts' 'created' by perceptions. Dutch political correctness is henceforward officially certifiable.

Israel: Celebrating 60 Years on the Edge of Destruction

At sundown Wednesday Israel began marking its 60th Independence Day with pride and uncertainty about its future.

Melanie Phillips at The Spectator (where incidentally the 180 year mark was passed in festive atmosphere) clarifies yet more (of the same) Postmodern revisionism in "The war against the Jews (21)":

"I’ve just caught up with Jeremy Bowen’s documentary on the birth of Israel which was transmitted last Sunday evening.

Sigh.

Most of what I want to say about it is said in this critique by Honest Reporting. I would just make a couple of additional points.

The first is that, like so much journalism about Israel, this programme failed to acknowledge the true perfidy of the British in reneging on the terms of the Mandate they were given to (re-)establish a Jewish National Home in Palestine.

First, in 1921/2 Churchill unilaterally give away three quarters of Palestine to the Hashemites to create Jordan;

then the UK sought to appease Arab terrorism (so what’s new?) by reneging on its undertaking to encourage Jewish immigration into Palestine, even while the Holocaust was unfolding in Europe, and instead turned a blind eye to mass illegal Arab immigration;

then it divided the quarter of Palestine that had been left for the Jews in 1922 and offered half of that to the Arabs — as a response to the terrorist attacks they were carrying out against both Jews and British to prevent the Mandate from being fulfilled.

The notion peddled by the programme that the British tried to steer a middle course between the Arabs and the Jews is simply false, as Bernard Wasserstein’s classic book, Britain and the Jews of Europe, makes all too shockingly clear.

The other point is that Bowen’s view that the creation of Israel was (...)" >>>
